yeah, i got stuck 3times. i did unfortunately have another 4wd issue. the last time i got stuck, my 4wd wouldnt engage and by the that time i was already stuck. then it wouldnt disengage either. was stuck in 4hi for a little while. need to figure out whats going on

Noah's 4WD functioning when it felt like it only adds to what was a fun day. Anyone can go and take a picture of their ride parked on a dune and they will not remember it a month later.

Noah getting stuck on level ground one minute from camp or at the top of a 3 story high dune is what you remember and makes a "yeah we went to the dunes..." to "You should have been there!" kind of day. Pictures are just icing on the cake.

I myself spent most of the day in 2WD with the steering wheel center stripe in the 10 o'clock or 2 o'clock position which is pretty much against everything I have done over the past 20 years at Pismo... I am so accustomed to 4WD quite honestly is like a new learning process.

The few times I lost momentum I was able to power out with 4WD which is why Noah is not posting pics of me buried to the frame!

Looks like fun... where did you guys go?.. I'm new to raptors and off roading would like to get into something like this

We were at Oceano Dunes (AKA Pismo Beach) which is about 170 miles North on the 101 from LA, Alex.

And yes you should come up and have some fun in your Raptor!

that video is actually really good at showing how steep the dune really was. i was really hoping you were going to follow me up it. the reason i drive like that is because i have spent half my life in those dunes. im figuring you will be like that soon. i dont doubt it.

too bad i had quad issues. that ate up a bit of time, but in the end, my family, kyle and his girlfriend, and you and the wife had a good time.

i never go to the dunes to attend events. holiday weekends and big events like huckfest brings out the worst of drivers. its not something i enjoy when there is an overcrowding problem mixed with extra inexperienced drivers. i like to drive out there and overcrowding doesnt allow me to do that.

Probably caused by an overloaded electrical circuit......:ROFLJest:

any non holiday weekend or random weekday is fine. and always go with someone. that way if you get stuck like i did, you have someone to pull you out. digging your vehicle out by yourself is not a fun thing to do. and a tow truck costs over $300 for them to come out to get you. we are always up for a trip to the dunes, just let us know and we can plan something

I live 15 minutes from here and I'm always down for a day out at the dunes if I'm free. Hit me up if you're making a trip!
