I was running the factory oil, 5W-30. Thats whats they put in the truck when the dealer changed the oil last month.

So I had a neighbor dealer offer me $61.5 for my truck, fixed. Now, they won't come off MSRP on the Leadfoot they have on lot, but thats really fine by me because I'll just order a 19 from them at MSRP.

At this point, I've told the dealer who has the truck that I have no interest in trading the truck with them since I dont think we can agree on a deal.

I will be talking with the neighbor dealer who offered 61.5 today, in hopes I can get a 19' ordered and minimize the time with no truck.

Sounds like a good approach. While deals are available below MSRP for '19 orders, it may require you to hunt for one. And after everything you've gone through, I know that if I were you, trying to find a deal at $1k - $2k below MSRP is not an endeavor I would be looking forward to. At this point, I assume you just want some semblance of closure.

So if you're looking to order at, say, $73,000 for a '19 and getting $61,500 for your current truck AND you're concerned about the longevity of the new engine/powertrain, I'd say the upgrade fee of $11,500 (not included taxes/fees) is a reasonable number.

Exactly. I will be fine with a 19' for MSRP...I think that is fair.

But get this, the same dealer that's ordering me a 19' at MSRP is the one who will only go down to $1k OVER MSRP for a Leadfoot on lot. Kinda confusing.

Although, that dealer is telling me that they will have to devalue my trade since I'm going to be driving it for the next few weeks while my 19' is being built. Which I supposed is a wash since it won't even be ready by then.

Oh well, I'm just ready to get this wrapped up.

So they'll order you a '19 at MSRP but want ADM on an '18? They must really think that '18 is something special, lol.

How much are they going to devalue your trade? I'd hope it wouldn't be more than $500.

Yea, it’s backwards but I promise it’s true...makes no sense.

They won’t commit to how much the will devalue my trade, and to a certain extent, I cant blame them. I had hoped they would hold the value since I take great cars of my truck and it won’t have but a couple hundred more miles, but oh well.

I doubt it even matters, since my motor is on backorder until 10-29. So my guess is I won’t be getting my truck back until December.

Now I’m trying to decide between the white 19’ they have ordered (no vin yet) or ordering a velocity blue. My current truck is white but I have always like the blue color.

Performance blue is pretty nice too, if you haven't looked at a sample.

I'd order a truck. With the amount of money you're spending, you should get everything you want.

Did you order performance blue?

I’ve been checking the comparisons between Ford Performance and Velocity. Both are nice. But I own a company and our blue is super close to Velocity, so that’s a plus.

Yea, and at this point, if I order one soon, it will get here at a similar time. No need to rush.

Yep, I ordered PB. I was set on white, then ironically enough when I showed up at the dealer to submit my order they had two white Raptors sitting on the lot. First time I had checked out a white Raptor up close, and the color just wasn't doing it for me. So I called an audible and went with PB.

The build site has both colors up now, but honestly I don't think they're very accurate. I might have some 2019 paint samples lying around I can upload a photo of if you're interested.

So I’ve seen a few pics , particularly the ones posted on a Mustang I think? That showed PB and VB paint samples on a Lightning mustang. Also, the one real life pic that had a raptor in VB and an 18 in LB.

The PB looked a little more subdued To me I think. Maybe that’s just what the order page shows, so if you have anything that shows it having more vibrancy, I’d love to see. Appreciate the offer.

It's not the best lighting, even under my garage workbench lights, but this is VB and PB next to each other (plus vice grips to hold the folded pamphlet down). I prefer the added gray hue in the PB over the pure blue of the VB. Under sunlight, both would be plenty vibrant, more so that in my photo. On the build site, both colors are more muted than they are in person.

To me, VB is a color for my five year-old's bike... Just too much blue. The PB is pretty much perfect. But color choice is possibly the most subject vehicle decision one can make.

Oh, and another member got some photos of a Raptor in VB at a state fair. They represent the color pretty well based on other vehicles at the dealer I've seen myself:

This is EXACTLY my thought....But there is no procedure for what I want in this situation.

Ive gone through plenty of race engines to know this. It's not as simple as when metal comes in contact with metal and the shavings that result take a straight path to the oil filter and do not pass go. They flow around in the cam journals, rod bearings, piston rings, cam timing solenoids, main bearings, timing chains, oil pump, running through the turbos and everything else until they finally make their way to the oil filter and are trapped. The oil cooler will have particles in it pretty much forever lodged in the passages just waiting to pop out later. You have to assume everything that touches oil is compromised.
