Perhaps you would like to name the dealer trying to profit off your misfortune and their faulty product?

This is ridiculous. Having a warranty issue with one truck does not qualify you for a discount on a NEW truck. Dealership has done nothing wrong...didn't even fight the guy on the engine issue...if anything be mad at Ford Corporate for not extending the warranty.

Low ball trade in...well I don't think the new engine effects it much, but selling a truck to a third owner...yes that's a big hit. No you are not going to get a good deal on a trade in on a two year old already on its second owner truck with 20K miles. Yes the dealership is going to hold on to their new truck for MSRP just like every other Ford dealer not in the Midwest.

I never asked for a discount because of my warranty issue. But I also know that it’s not unreasonable to try to get a smidge under msrp but they acted like they were doing me a huge favor by waiving the MARP that’s $10k over.

And I honestly don’t think they are lowballing because of the 3rd owner thing. I think it’s because they know I want out of a blown motor truck. Or maybe it’s just a normal starting offer and they will offer $60k eventually and we will have a deal. I guess we will see.

They are the original dealer of this truck as well.

Sooooo... you have a truck that you have been happy with that is still under warranty. The motor puked, and is going to be repaired/replaced under warranty. Said truck will continue to have a warranty after repair and you can extend that warranty if you wish either by purchase, or by negotiating secondary to the repair. If anything goes wrong going forward, you still have a covered motor under warranty. But you're so worried about a future visit from the motor boogie man, that you are thinking of trading your truck away at a substantial loss, to essentially by the same truck with higher miles, or a year newer, from a dealership that you are unsure if you are or aren't mad at?

I would rather have my truck with a new motor and 100,000 mile warranty, than someone else's truck with unknown issues with the 36,000 mile warranty, purchased for more money... but that's just me.

They still haven’t agreed to any extended warranty on the new motor.

I know it sucks but i’d take my truck with the new motor and buy an extended warranty through ford flood for 7 yrs, 125,000 miles. I don’t see it as a big deal having a new motor and you should really have the extended warranty, it is a raptor after all and will pay for it self over time.

Ford seems to be on a six-year redesign cycle with the F150 line. The current line was introduced in 2015, which means 2021 should be when the line is redesigned completely. 2018 brought a refresh the F150s, but relatively simple modifications (new grill/headlights, tailgate stamp).

2019 has obviously brought some updates to the Raptor, but nothing mind blowing or close to a redesign. I think, at best, 2021 is when you you will see a Raptor redesign, which means the 2019s should have two strong years before they're replaced with an entirely new model.

And Ford could always pull a 2015/2016 again and stop producing Raptors to focus on F150 assembly. I personally doubt that, but you never know.

Moral being, if you want a 2019, get one. I wouldn't worry about what features they might introduce in the future.

With RAM and Chevy both bringing out fresh product, Ford won't want to wait until 2021 to do the same. RAM outsold F-150 last month, so I'm sure Ford knows they need to get moving.

I had the short block on my 2014 5.0 mustang replaced at about 10k miles due to a loud engine tick and it ran strong until I traded it in 20k miles later.

I say take the new engine and try to get a warranty and enjoy! Then trade it for the next updated model after the 19s. That grille and headlights posted above look pretty sweet.

Thanks guys. Gonna talk to my local dealer again today, along with the dealer who sold me the truck (in NC).

I'm not looking for special treatment, Just trying to see what the numbers would be on a new one 18/19. If they are low enough for me to be comfortable, then I'll move. If not, then I'll keep my truck.

I went to my dealer today for an intake issue and the advisor walked me onto the floor to speak with the tech. Turns out he was a pretty good guy so we started talking about stuff and I asked him how many Raptors he is seeing with the low oil issue. I took him completely off guard and he looks around and says “oh you know about that”. He walks outside with me and starts saying he is not sure if he can be talking about it but they are seeing them a lot. He suggested changing the oil every 3,000 miles and holding off on any engine mods for a bit. He said he has had Ford deny more than one due to a tune being done.
