Another tip. Always park close to an outlet. I had to daisy chain 3 long extension cords for the solder gun.

you could have just used duct tape and zip ties to get closer to power....... or a butane soldering iron.

Have been thinking about just getting a heavy duty fuse holder and doing it outside the box and labeling it for future reference...?

I use my butane soldering iron for a LOT more stuff in the garage than my "cheap" electric ones.
Couple accessories make it pretty handy.
Take the tip off and use as a torch.
Tip on for soldering.
Little half round shield for shrink wrap.

Update - OP never got this done and was last heard from when heading out to the desert in Nov. 2022. @John M BUNMAN has been out there looking for him for the past month. Both are now missing.

Need some guidance ya'll. I've seen the videos on how to do Fuse27, but I'm terrified of anything relating to electronics or wires, fuses, etc... and would rather not attempt this. Any idea if the dealer could do it since they are the ones who have acknowledge the potential issue and ultimately released a Fuse27 kit? Or bypass the dealer and contact a setero shop, or..?
