I wonder if you guys would have some luck in Nevada this weekend if their is an army/navy surplus store? Gotta sell that kinda stuff somewhere in one of the few "freedom" states.

Dan, J...I use those cans for motorcycles and jetskis and they work AWSOME!! They are thick so they don't bulge out too bad and they do really well exposed to the UV in the NV desert. Good news is you can probably find those at any motorcycle or boat store in NV this weekend!!

My friend used these cans for fuel in his Jeep the look great and the price isn't too bad..

Just for grins (and after reading BigJ's fuel funnel thread) I took the filler pipe from my Scepter cans that I have on the Jeep and tried to 'open the fuel door' on the Raptor with it - bzzzt - nope, too small its a 19mm tube.

Recently went shopping on eBay and found a seller with the surplus Military Gas Cans. Ordered 4 of them.
The price was a little high at $185.00 for 4 including UPS shipping but they are in very nice shape, caps fit like new and shipping was fast.
There was a note in the box stating that he will sell cans for $30 each without the Viton gasket or the cap retainer strap or $35 with the Viton gasket and the red cap retainer strap. Of course plus UPS shipping.
No mention of whether he ships to California or not.

I carry 6-6gal gas cans when I'm camping...then I sell them for $20 a gallon to Tim and Dan
