Waiting to hear back from MPT. Will post an update either way once we come together.

Can you keep the MPT ECM tune and leave the Trans tune stock? That would solve your problem for now.

Part of what makes MPT so good is the trans tune. Does a much better job holding the gears. Just weird to me that it shifted fine for 5,500-ish miles, then started downshifting hard from 6th to 5th. I'm not into tearing up a trans for no good reason, so makes sense to return to stock, since it shifts fine there, and attempt to resolve with MPT if possible.

FWIW, I've always said that the PC makes the truck feel the way it should have come from the factory. Thats why I've reinstalled it while I wait. If you do not believe me, and you are currently running a PC, go unplug it and see how far you drive it down the road before you reinstall it.

Must feel like you are driving a Hyundai now.

Lol

This is the silliest thing I have heard. A 450 hp truck that also makes 510 ft-lbs cannot be driven without a tune from a company called "More Power Tuning" ??

Geez guy, we know you are sweet on them, but take it easy. The stock truck makes a ton of power, and with a power commander, it 'feels' very lively too.

I thought, from the factory, without a tune...

That the truck was disappointingly slow, with poor transmission logic, and sluggish downshifts. It certainly did not feel like a high performance truck to me.

First I tried a JMS Boostmax and Pedal max

Then 5 star released and I went with them, but the transmission tuning was goofy and it randomly threw wrenches and the cruise control didn’t function properly.

Then MPT released and it was superb. If another company can do better... I’ll drop MPT like a bad habit and go with them instead. I have no brand loyalty as I’ve said before. I want the best and I get the best.

Eh sounds like you got a defective truck and proceeded to make it worse by throwing random bolt on mods at it.

Sure normal is not too lively but every fly by wire throttle on the planet can benefit from a pedal commander or similar tweak. To say truck is slow from factory just sounds silly and sounds like you got a dud.

I only agree 50%...if the normal mode was all I had I would of returned the truck within first 24 hours....might not of even bought it. Sport mode is much better but it holds the gears too long. Barely touching the gas at 35 mph it will hold 3rd gear at 4500+ rpm and is kind of a ackward audibly screaming along next to a mini van in traffic. Maybe a PC fixes all that but stock is a bit underwhelming. My ‘18 MPT should arrive any day now.

Yes. That's exactly what a PC helps remediate by giving you finer control over the throttle voltage sent to ecu.

Look I'm not here arguing an MPT tune isn't good or isn't necessary. I'm sure it makes the truck more fun. But I call bs on anyone pretending the stock truck with PC is a Hyundai Elantra. Your smoking dope at that point and not even the good stuff. You can chug all the koolaid you want but don't try to shove it down my throat.
