Hey guys, sorry if its been covered and I missed it - do we know how cell and internet coverage is at the park ? 3G or 4G ?

I will be there on the June 8th with a Verizon & AT&T devices. I will let you all know what signal is available. If you plan on using MotionX or other offroad GPS software, I would download the maps before you arrive. What the hell - the MotionX ones are free.

Really...I have the 3rd and 1st gen...so i could use this with no internet?

I was thinking of adding a WiFI Router in the Truck as a hotspot.

You can use MotionX and download the map tiles ahead of time. But that doesn't help you if you don't have a GPS receiver. The WIFI iPad does not have a GPS. The iPad mini has a cellular assisted receiver. Not sure how it's fundamentally different other than it needs a cell signal. There is a GPS receiver from Bad Elph I think that is bluetooth and can be used with the wifi only iThingys.

Saw the ELPH 1000 on Amazon for about $100. This might just be what I need for my iPads to use on the run...

Really cool thanks

It's the bigger Ipad I bought at christmas last year.

16GB dock connector to USB Cable, and USB Power Adapter. Supports Wi-Fi (802.11a/b/g/n) and Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR. Requirements: Apple ID (required for some features)* and Internet access.**

that's what the box says.
