Going to register this Friday (pay day). This will be my first event, can't wait to meet everyone! My wife wanted to go but we don't have anyone to watch our kid so I'll be flying solo... just hope I'm not the only one.

Now to figure out lighting options for the night-time run.

See you guys in September!

Plenary of good vendors with plenty of options...

I went with the M&R 40" grill kit...puts out a ton of light, easy install and a perfect fit...

You can't go wrong with any of the vendors...plus their support is great...

Glad you are making the run...

I plan on doing other events, but this is the first even i have seen that mandates a bed rack. Not exactly sure why they are taking this stance as rausch creek is anything but a 100mile trail out in the middle of a desert. Only thing i could think of to explain it would be faster tire changes while on the track. Which if memory serves me correctly the track isnt really a track, but more of a large open field with a track etched into it (not like a rally race, where you could be stuck on the side of a cliff with 2 feet of space), so folks can pull off to the side and take their time.

I am still curious as to hear why this mandate is in place.

Really what it comes down to is added expense to do it right (sorry latching down a tire in my bed doesnt sound like the brightest idea to me, when i know im going to want to push myself and my truck).

You ever use one? Does it require drilling of the bed?
Hey, you can have mine I made for the snoball run or if you dont want it at least use it for the hills event. I like what I made but I want something different now since I am planning on keeping the top I have on the truck.

That sucks Mike, who knows maybe something will get delayed with your work trip and you'll still get to make it. :wizhuh:

Thanks.

Keeping figures crossed Mark, and your right, there is still a 20% chance it could be delayed or cancelled....

I strapped mine with straps woven as Huck said for the Snoball and it worked great. Tire stays in the bed full time now. Under the truck is a pain. I built a rack out of wood to make storage easier and will use it for the SDBR next week. Tire still strapped to d-rings I put on the bed bolts. Works under bakflip too. Iso, no rack required. Still going to get one from WSI soon as I figure out what I want/need.

This was pre fab, everything tacked in place.

Looking great, all stainless and simply mounts to bed bolt locations.
it will secure many items. Shovel, hilift jack, 2 amo cans, stock tire, Yeti75, 2 gas cans. And room for luggage, chainsaw and other awesome items.
