I've thumbed through this- I've not seen anything on being able to disable the auto-shut off when idling over 15 minutes with fob out of the truck and locked? My shop dog normally is in the truck, and if it's summer time I leave it running (my last truck was a ram 2500, it had a fob/push button key and wouldn't time out)..... thankfully I found this out the hard way when I came out about 18 minutes later..... truck was off, cabin was still cool but was warming up. I was kinda ticked you can't turn that off.

I can't be certain this works as I don't leave my truck running with my dog in it...but if it is triggering off from "key fob out of truck and running" the easiest way to handle this situation would be to leave your key fob in the console out of sight. Lock the doors using the keypad by pressing the 7-8 and 9-0 at the same time. When you return unlock using your code and off you go.

I lock my fob in the truck all the time when I don't want to have the fob with me. Best of luck...report back if this works. The alternative explanation is that this does not trigger off from "key fob in truck and running" but rather "stationary idle" regardless of fob location...in which case this will not work.

?? electric fans ?? not following ya...

For the intercooler and/or radiator

This was a common mod on my old E55 AMG to get temps lower for IATs when the engine/ambient air got over a certain temp, fans would come on earlier to keep things cool

Anyone with Forscan knowledge in the NE FL area that can help me with my truck when it gets here next month? I live in Jacksonville Beach, FL.

When I first heard of Forscan, I too wanted the assistance of someone else who already had it. But I would give same advice to you as I got... Go ahead and get the setup yourself.

I have gone back and forth and tweaked a few settings several times: secure idle, fake engine noise, tire size calculation. So having it yourself allows gives you more flexibility. Not to mention, when new codes are found, your change is just 5 minutes away!

anyone know the default temp setting?
and how long does it stay on by default?

also - any way to make the steering wheel like the heated seats with a high-medium-low setting?

To my knowledge, there is no timeout for the HSW, at least, it's never auto shut off for me in our 2018 shop truck. Also, I would guess that default would be the "full hot" temperature shown above of 88ºF.

This change in APIM:
7D0-02-01 5753 xxxx xxxx - Allows NAV in motion on Sync 3 v2.2-3.x, viewing/replying text messages & Sirius Travel Link still works. ** 911 assist will be disabled with this enabled **

Speed limit signs in NAV will look European after doing this but the speed listed will still be in mph.

i tried this change with forscan but it doesnt seem to be working for me and the speed limit sign is still the north american style as well. Is there something else i need to do?

my vehicle is a 2018 with sync 3 V2.3.

Edit: NVM I guess it needs some time to adjust. This morning I noticed the European speed limit and now it is working. Guess it adjusted overnight!

Nick is correct. Full hot is 88. I set mine to 100 and I can't tell that much of a difference to be honest. And yes, it also 'feels' like it reduces the heat output after a while of running.
