Fyi. The spec is 75w-85. Red Line makes a good one.

It did, it took a long time for the diffs to ship, but that was a Ford back order problem, not the vendor. Rick @ Freedom Motorsports got us our oil and lube lockers really fast. The diffs just shipped this week and are due any day now depending on where you live. (UPS says I get mine on the 9th)
Not sure if they have any left, but hit up Rick at Freedom Motorsport, he usually responds within a few hours. Gave us a good price, saved about $50 over piecing it together ourselves.

No friction modifier should be used. I used Redline synthetic 75w85 oil and the gasket that comes with the FP is perfectly fine, lubelocker not needed. Just scrape off the old gasket and clean it well, maybe use steel wool or something abrasive. What was the final verdict on needing to add a friction modifier to the oil? I read the thread but did not find anything conclusive.
Also on the gasket, I believe its being referred to as the lube locker, is the gasket that comes with the FPP not good enough?
I just ordered the FPP from CJ's. Just need to figure out the oil situation and whether a friction modifier is required. I did no see a friction modifier being specified in the owners manuel. Just says SAE 75W-85 Premium Synthetic Hypoid Gear with Specification WSS-MZC942-A; P/N: XY-75W85-QL
Thanks

Did this group by in ever take off and I missed it?
Why 4 quarts? The manual states 2.7 is capacity. We have 7 covers left (ordered 10). We bundled it with a Lube Locker gasket and 4 quarts of Easy-Pack AMSOIL 75W-90.
Everything in stock, ready to ship until we sell the remaining covers.
Dude - you don't need instructions. Put a bucket under the diff, remove bolts. Remove old gasket, clean diff gasket mating surface. Put new gasket and new cover on. Fill with 3 quarts (it's 2.7 but the .3 won't hurt). Done. For those who ordered a Ford Performance Part version not a Spicer part version, were the install instructions from Spicer or FPP?
