I got the same email. Although I have a signed purchase agreement, deposit down and a DORA with this dealer. Any thoughts?

I wonder if you can just use that as proof that they will give it to you for $50 over invoice?

I think they realized they messed up however, it's sort of too late, if you will?

Just called Louisburg. They are completely bullshitting their way through this. According to their "Regional Ford Guy" from this Mornings Meeting, they only have a small allocation and are not getting their unlimited allocation they did in previous years.

Again .... This makes no sense. They are now willing to order for me for MSRP, but must cancel my invoice pricing.

If they can order for me either way, but are unwilling to order it via invoice pricing, this sounds like ********. If everyone who signed up for and put a deposit down for invoice pricing now pays MSRP, they are in the same boat.

May be time to blacklist these guys.

Is a signed buyers agreement not a legal document? I would challenge them with it and threaten legal matters if they re-nig on their documents they made you sign and accepting a deposit. ****** way to do business if so. Don't be afraid to stand up and fight!

Wow.

The dealer's logic doesn't make sense though... what does allocation have to do with price?? If it's no longer open allocation, then they simply have fewer to sell, and a longer wait time for delivery, but that does not affect the price.

You already have an order in and an agreed upon price. Dealer can go **** itself.

I bet if you backed out for a crappy ******** reason they would be more than happy to keep your $1000 deposit per the buyers agreement. I can't believe they are doing this, they need to honor what they did and just do msrp moving forward.

My agreement stated that if the order wasn't filled for whatever reason, my deposit will be returned.

Honestly, I want to say it's Ford's fault. They switched it from open allocation to a limited number of production.

Therefore, dealers that thought they would have unlimited numbers of allocation found out this morning they wouldnt... That's what's making them backtrack.

Sure I think they should have waited but then again.. They are dealers.

I feel like, a deposit is a promise, that you're interested and are ready to buy. For them to say, "You know what? We change out minds." Is a ****** way of doing business. I'd take my money and go elsewhere. Afterall, this dealership has been doing $50 over invoice for a long time. Someone needs to get their ****** slapped.

According to Levine, the orders that have been placed will be held in the system until a unit can be allocated.

So they will eventually fill your order. You just might have to wait in line depending on how many other orders they took.

Dealer is now just trying to rip you off.

But they can fill it, they are just choosing not to now since they can't get as many as they want to order. So because they are limited, they want to make as much as possible and choosing to renege on all the orders they already accepted. Complete ******** way to run a business. They need to honor the orders they took but obviously they don't give a shit because they will sell every one they order regardless.
