lol - my first experience? Never happened, crawled around under there, made a bunch of jokes about stupid Ford engineers (been dealing w/ mostly GM & Honda vehicles my life) & decided right then & there that A) I don't give a damn enough about this truck to treat it special & give it oil changes myself ESPECIALLY since its a huge mess making time consuming PITA & B) while I have a reputable mechanic I use for my vehicles locally, I am not sure I'll always go there in the future & not sure a random tech would take the effort to minimize the mess made when changing the oil in the Raptor let alone not lose any of the associated bolts/screws (they already attempted to remove skid plate that said "do not remove" on my first free oil change @ dealer - never again)
SOOOOO - to make it easier on the techs @ the shop I use + to minimize mess + to make it easy on ME should I ever decide to change it myself - I had the swiveling Fumoto valve installed w/ like 10" of hose on the end so you can just flip the valve open w/ a long flat head screwdriver & position the hose to drain into whatever pan you have. Then I made the decision to only use K&N oil filters - not b/c I think they're super high quality over anything else off the shelf or a FOMOCO filter - 1000% ONLY because they're the only geniuses who put a hexhead on the end of their filters so you don't need a particular oil filter removal toil and/or destroy the crap outta your hands/knuckles/arms/elbows etc. getting the POS filter out from pan. WHAT A STUPID DESIGN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
But hey, its Ford, they make 3.0 V6 engines that are somehow architecturally bigger than an LS2 lol! I stopped trying to figure it out - there are quirks to every manufacturer
