Don't wear your favorite shirt.
AMEN. I've had Raptors since 12' (3 in total) and this was the first one that oil leaked behind me down the skid. First thought.....well, not bad and then I looked down and my shirt was drenched. Fumoto plug in and moving forward now.

Speaking of oil changes, my 2019 Raptor doesn't seam to have the oil life reset option on the gauge drop down menu like my previous F150 . Has anyone come across this ? I'm getting tired of hitting "OK" for needing an oil change every time I start the truck.

  • Turn the ignition to the “on” position, but do not start the engine.
  • Use the directional pad on the steering wheel and scroll through the settings area under the heading menu
  • Go to Truck Info -> Engine Info -> hold ok to reset

Scroll all the way to the right under "Settings" --> "Advanced Settings" --> "Vehicle" --> "Oil Life Reset"

It will tell you your current oil percentage and press and hold "OK" on the steering wheel to reset the oil life.

Having done some minor work on my cars just the past few years, I totally get the satisfaction to be derived from so doing.

but as another here posted, it’s so cheap to have the dealer do it, just not worth the mess unless you have a lift and are practiced at it.

I saw dude on YouTube get a face full of oil. No thank you.

now on my former Porsches, that would’ve been worth it as stealer charges $450 for an oil change. I finally found a great indy shop that charged “only” $225. Felt like a huge savings in comparison.

ah, but of course in waitIng room they had this awesome Grateful Dead cookie jar. And I had to have it. $250 later on EBay it was mine.

Then I’m watching a movie on my home theater and it vibrates off one of my JLAudio subwoofers, shatters on the floor, and I naturally find another one on eBay for another $250.

Most expensive cheap oil change I ever had.

I read the oil change thread here and my first change went just fine. No muss, no fuss. Even kept the skid plates dry. I'm glad I read the advice, though, this is the worst vehicle I've ever owned as far as the easy oil changes and I might have made a mess the first time without the advice. A Fumoto and a tube will reduce the effort and the potential mess to near zero in the future. No lift needed, the truck has tons of room underneath.

If I had a dime for every video of stupid people posted on youtube, I'd make Bill Gates look like a pauper. If it gushes too much when you pull the plug out all the way, don't pull it out all the way. Problem solved. I'll bet that video was staged. Who in the heck videos their oil changes?
