First car

I've been driving around the Family GL 450 now. And my dad finally told me that he's going to buy me a car this month or the next.

What i really want is an SVT Raptor.

So i was wondering if anybody could help me out with ways to convince him?

What he wants me to get is a BMW 335i or Mustang GT/CS

CAN ANYBODY HELP ME OUT?!?

Honestly, I'm 18. Dont get the Raptor as your first car. I had an Audi A4 and that was perfect, not too much engine and handled well. When you get your first car. You tend to go crazy, I know I did. Getting such a big car is not going to help you.

Anyways, I convinced my dad by showing him videos from YouTube and showing him info on how capable the car really is. I'm moving from Georgia to Boston in August for college so the added worry of snow and ice helped my case.... Just use the elements.

My parents agreed to give me 3,000 dollars when I turned 16 as long as I had a least at 3.0 gpa. My first car was an 88 325is that I bought for 1800 bucks.

I dont think the raptor is a very good first vehicle. I personally think a persons first car should be more or less a beater because teenagers do a lot of stupid shit behind the wheel. Almost all teenagers get in some kind of accident too. Don't want to wreck a 50k dollar car or truck! But... if your parents are willing to get you a 335i or mustang gt, I take it money is not an issue anyways..

Got my car at 15.5 when I got my permit. It was a mazda 3. I was 19 when my parents got me my raptor. They knew I was HUGE into baja and anything off road. Been riding quads since I was 4. My next door neighbor's dad created off-road.com, addictivedirt.com, and baja.net. so I went to tons of races. The BMW is nice, but its no raptor

I'm turning 18 in a few months and ive been driving the family GL 450 which is longer but not as wide as the Raptor since i got my license. they just feel that a truck in our drive way wouldnt look fancy compared to the rest of the neighborhood. but they dont understand how amazing the raptor really is.

Personally i wouldn't want the Raptor as a first. I know none of us are going to convince you to not get it right now haha. I had an 02 silverado with 75,000 miles for my first. I loved it. It was nice and i took care of it but it wasn't horrible if things went wrong.
Back to your dilemma, tell him how much safer trucks are. And how much more versatile it is with a bed and all. Just tell him stuff that he will want to hear.
