Thanks for posting your thoughts and comparisons between the Gen 1 and 2.

Just FYI the paddles control the tranny in sport mode. In regular drive they do what's called range limiting. So when you hit the left paddle ( - ) it drops 10th then hit again it drops 9th and so on. The tranny will then only use the gears showing.

Was it really the exhaust note or was it the faux exhaust note via the speakers?
In the wife 16 we had the faux note in the speakers turned off. Much better after that. No doesn't make much noise, but that's what we wanted.

Today I saw a blue scab gen2 in Syracuse ny! It sounded terrible! The guy was taking a right while I was waiting to go straight, the traction control must have been kicking in because it looked as if it was the guys first time driving a manual. The truck looks BADASS but the sound it makes doesn't make sense. I'm not a turbo hater, I still have my 04 sti which I love.

Which interior pieces are different with the orange interior package? All I thought was the carbon fiber, orange stitching, and seats...

Orange pack replaces all trim with orange hued pieces

The one piece that isn't trimmed is the shifter - this is only trimmed with the carbon pack

But the orange pack does have the brushed metal looking plastic around the front vents and center console - like on a platinum - without the orange pack, its the same rough dark grey plastic like door handles

Correct, except that's not plastic, it actually brushed metal. At least it is on a platinum, and from the pictures I've seen it appears to be the same material.

I like the idea of brushed metal instead of plastic. Will explore the possibility to replace it if cost is not excessive

I have a platinum, and while it could be metal, it has to be the thinnest, cheapest metal out there - it doesn't "finger thump" any differently than the plastic trim to me

Plus it isn't mentioned on the specs page but they go thru the trouble to highlight black carpet and unique wood, I think actual metal would get a bullet

It bothers me that the door trim stays rough plastic even when the other pieces are brushed whatever
