Exterior Door Handle seal falling out

I did some research from the link in the OP and it seems like the crap falling out is the a bead of silicone. There are removal instructions in the linked thread for you to DIY. My question is... Can you guys recommend a high quality silicone sealant? One that will last longer than a year...

mine did that a year ago i just riped it off and havent had any problems yet.

Mine is falling out as well. There Dosent seem to be any issue with some water ingress into the door from there, as when it rains water will enter the door as it runs down the window

Door handle seal?

So today I noticed that there was white stuff sticking out from around the edge of my drivers door handle. I pulled a piece off and it seems like rubber. I'm not sure if it's a seal to keep water out of the door or what. Has anyone else seen this. I know people have switched out their door handles, so what kind of seals are there behind the handle? Thanks in advance for any input.

Have you ever had your truck buffed? They left residue like that on my truck and it was the same look as that

I've seen that come from my door handle as well and have never had it buffed. Like the OP, seems like some kind of sealant from under the handle. Maybe its excess?

Could it be excess protective plastic film that some cars have put on them for shipping that protects the paint in areas and it didn't get removed properly?
