I think they got combined. I posted the thread today and noticed that it got added to the other thread. After reading the whole thing I am sure the issue I am having is the door seal falling out like stated in the other posts.

Hmmm... oh well.

It's definitely a small bead of clear silicone that's applied to inside perimeter of the door handles. It turns white over time and eventually disintegrates and falls out over time. I have some new OE PTM handles at home that I had painted Ingot Silver that I can post a photo of the silicone if anyone's interested.

So interesting. I have 2600 miles on mine and I noticed something around my front door handle as well. I was baffled but now know what it is. My seal is starting to come out as well. In a $55k truck there are this many of us having this type of annoying thing?? Raises serious question. I hate the thought of a service run for a door handle gasket.

How can this be?

Personally, I wouldn't really worry about it. The door has a weathershield inside it to separate the inside door cavity from the electronics in/on the finish trim panel. Additionally, the inside of the door is not bare metal like the old days, so it's not going to rust from the inside out. Plenty of water is leaking by the window seal anyways... that's why there's drain holes in the bottom of the door.

Hey gang,

If you're noticing this, it's a good idea to bring it to the attention of your dealership so they can document and diagnose it. In addition to repairing your truck, it's the best way to get data in the hands of our engineering folks so they can identify concerns as they pop up. As always, if you need me to step in and assist, just shoot a PM my way with your details. I'll need your full name, best daytime phone number, VIN, mileage, and servicing dealership.

I have been noticing the same thing on the driver side front door of my truck over the last week or so. 2013 crew with 6K miles, seems it's only happening on that one door. I hope the door will be ok without it.
