that's what happens when you aren't on the gas at take-off and through the entire jump.

the nose comes down because the fuel tank is on the driver's side 3/4 of the way toward the rear. the truck carries more momentum on the rear DS corner and makes the who thing rotate like that. ( If you hit the brakes mid-air it gets way worse)

gotta commit and not be afraid of the rev limiter.

At RA they tell you to get off the gas. And you do the jump in 2H, so the biggest challenge is not spinning the rears on the approach. I suspect that they're trying to extend the life of their trucks. They said that landing in 4WD was hard on the drivetrain. I saw on the internet that if you put a bunch of old tires and weightlifting crap in the bed it's supposed to help. :D

i think you're wrong. Looking at the pic, you could easily park another raptor underneath the airborne one. a stock gen2 raptor is 78.5" tall.

It's at least 7 feet off the ground.

So seven. Not important. Had it been over the track, we're talking 20+. That would have been significant.

Please explain this?? Maybe a parachute would alter the course mid air but not stepping on the brakes. :005::33::fca5278e:
because on landing your wheels are locked up. bad shit happens when you are on the brakes and the tires want to spin. its a rookie mistake that some people have done

He didn't say the person was keeping the brakes on, he made it sound like putting the brakes on in the air was altering the course of the vehicle. I have OCD and am more critical the older I get . :D

well duh. hitting the brakes in mid air will slow you down. push hard enough and you will stop in mid air. why do you think semi trucks and big rv's have air brakes. they are so big and heavy then need to stop mid air immediately

go grab an RC car and huck it off of a large jump. If you stay on the gas, the nose of the vehicle will rotate up. ( the RC car will probably do a backflip if you stay in it.) If you let off the gas, nose will rotate down.

If you tap the brakes in a real truck mid-air, the truck will nose down.

the effect is less prominent when using 2wd, but it is still there.

( rotational inertia of the tires makes a difference.)

So, if I tap the brakes while I'm flying over the USA from Canada on approach to Mexico, my truck will nose dive and head to Baja? WTF. And I have a 2 stroke rc Raptor btw :33:
