I read the specs on 6.2L 2012 Raptor engine as 9.8:1 compression. What is the opinion of those who know about these thing as to running and having tuned for Enthonal free gasoline? Any advise/information on this is appreciated. Thanks in advance.

It is cheaper for me to buy premium that doesn't have ethonal. The better gas mileage makes it worth the more expensive gas.

The biggest problem would be getting ethanol-free 93 octane gas.

The only ethanol-free gas within 15 miles of my house is 89 octane.
When 93 octane was $3.59/gal, they were asking $3.99/gal for their ethanol-free 89 octane.

I know there is more BTU in ethanol-free gas, but I don't believe it's extra BTU content is covered by the differential in price.

Around here it 87 no ethonal 89 E10 and 91 no ethanol. After 37k mile and playing around with different tunes and octanes 91 on my performance tune gets me the best mpg. With the better mpg it is cheaper for me to buy the more expensive gas.

Up here everything has ethanol. The rare station will have 91 ethanol free. But it's rare.

Thanks for your input. Out here in the West, there seems to be plenty of ethanol free gas 89-91-92. So it seems that there is NO issue about running ethanol free gas in the 6.2L. Is that a correct observation?

Next, what octane rating would you have the 6.2L tuned for and why? I was thinking that tuning it for mid-range E10 at 91 octane would cover the non-ethanol 91 and 92 but the 89 would also run ok if got catch somewhere with out the higher octane gas and only the 89 or E10 was available. I hope this makes sense, your opinions are surely welcomed. Thanks in advance.

I run 93 ethanol-free gas with a tune from 5 Star. No issues whatsoever and I have been averaging 14.5 MPG in mostly city driving.
