I heard they were bending the frames in the rear if you jumped them, even though almost all ads show them jumping

No, those were the Gen1's that were bending frames. My new Raptor runs great and is so much faster than either of my Gen1 Raptors. What a pig those were by comparison.

There is something to be said about the "hangover build". My first 2014 was just that with a scratched up rear passenger bead lock wheel, sunroof controls misaligned and the killer... it leaked water through the firewall! Long story, I got rid of that within 5,000 miles so not even the Gen1's were perfect.

2017 Raptor Electrical Issues

Hi , It seems that I started off negative comments with my questions. I was hoping others with possibly the same issue would be on here so I could learn more and perhaps find the best avenue to adopt if the problem is a common issue. If its a wiring loom rubbing in the first 5 miles one assumes that the location is the same on all Raptors ( 2017 ) Thats of grave concern. Perhaps its a start of a recall and retro fix ? I would appreciate those who can quote a source of the problem similar to mine may chime in. I am not here to bash the brand . I am as excited as can be to finally get to use it when Ford fixes it but right now I am hearing mixed reports and wanted to get factual information on this type of problem . I was a little disturbed that when I asked for pictures of the part and problem they were never sent. I can accept problems happen at time to time but want to learn more

hate to say it, but seams like u got what i call a hangover build. it happens to all of the f150's too, not just the raptor. if i was in your situation i would allow them to attempt to fix it. if they can't, push for a new one from ford. ford has bought / replaced a few that i have read about.

they probably wont give you any pics due to liability. i'm still learning as you and this is the first time i have personally read about a rubbing wire harness. that is on both forums i read daily. this and f150forum.com. i would have been screwed if it happened to me cause i had a 65 mile drive home to get my kid from school.

for comparison only. i put 950 miles on mine in 12 days. a 500 mile day on sat with 150-200 miles offroad. i know that is exactly what you expected from your truck. please keep us updated if you get details of the issue and what was replaced/repaired.

Hey man, if Ford said a wire harness was burned you should get to the dealership to see it yourself. Short of that I'd just get a refund and go to another dealer if they aren't showing you this stuff.

Now it is possible that the map sensor or tmap sensors are loose... Weird, yeah, but I've seen it before.

you do far more to shit on the Raptor name than Ford ever could.

I would seriously bet that a good amount of these raptor horror stories are #fakenews created by Sasquatch.

He likes every one of the threads that has raptor issues and posts in almost all of them.

Unless the thread is started by a member whose been here for a while, all the threads are from members who joined within the past 6 months or so. They have no substantial posts other than an intro. The first main post they put up is about the raptor issue.

Sure there's been a few pictures in the threads, but none really that 100% establish they came from the poster. They could have been picked up elsewhere.

We are gettin' Sasquatched.

6 miles the loom on the harness burned up..... Right

Picture of wiring loom failure

-vf.0.0.0.54.jpg

My Ford dealer kindly sent a picture of the offending part that was shutting down the Raptor. It was located next to the air conditioning unit it transpires. They contacted Ford HQ and researched the fault internally and its the first one of its kind so no data on this failure previous on Fords database. A new loom was sent in from Ford and fitted and all retaining clips made secure as they had been left loose at Ford HQ. I guess my post may help other members as a quick glance of all lugs securing the loom will negate potential failures down the road. Now excited to finally get to use my Truck !
