amen - exactly! With the amount out there and the positive results, not one has ever had a warranty denied for it.

wrong

now you’re circling back to the warranty denial issue. This has been dealt with already - asked, and answered. I’ve confirmed with the mechanic at my local dealer - drill the cac, lose your warranty on affected powertrain parts. What is hard for you to understand about this?

so, why do you continue to troll the gen 2 subforms with what seems to be a pretty blatant attempt to convince someone to lose the warranty on their new trucks?

Nice - now you have proven you are full of shit:baby:

what’s the matter? don’t like being embarrassed and outed as a liar on the internet forums you troll?

For now, extremely happy with my non ecoboost family of vehicles

Sorry Smurf - you misunderstood... Just like your failure of doing good research. This is just fine for owners.... No warranty denials have ever occurred to the masses that have done this... Since 2011! Find proof of a denial, or shut up about it.

Seem you are getting more and more frustrated that your trolling isn’t meeting with any results. You are the one trying to convince people to drill a hole in the charge air cooler.

Sorry Smurf ruined this for you.
This particular BOV will be nice for you because it will also take care of getting any fluids from the intercooler vented to atmosphere pre-spark. So, you won't have misfire events related to it.

Wouldn't it first be necessary to find someone who had the mod you speak of bring their Raptor in for warranty repairs? You keep saying that nobody has been turned down for warranty repairs, but I'm willing to bet that 99% of Raptor owners that brought their trucks in for warranty repairs have not done the "weephole" mod you are so fond of. Also, do you know how warranties work and how the dealer has to prove that a mod itself has affected the issue and how the consumer is covered with mods vs. warranty unless the manufacturer can prove the mod itself caused the issue. I can drill holes in my wheels to make them lighter, call that a mod, cause issues in the wheel's integrity, but Ford can't deny a warranty repair if the wheel cracks unless they prove that particular mod caused the crack. Ford will usually just fix the issue rather than spend the money to fight the battle.

As people keep asking, why are you even on this forum if you hate this truck s much?

A few things - the 3.5 ecoboost has been around since 2011 (2010 - other platforms), and those owners fought through the problems to generate the weep hole fix themselves. With all the people that did that over the years, not one person has had a warranty denied for it. The Gen 2 of the ecoboost still retains the same design as the Gen 1, but the 15+ (15/16 still part of Gen 1) got the active shutters in front of the intercooler. This was to mimic the block off plate TSB that sort of worked on a previous Ford attempt to fix. These owners still had misfires and the rule of thumb on the ecoboost is to just drill the holes to prevent any potential misfire issues. This was really the problem that plagued the engine... Nevermind the high risk cam phaser failures. So, with all that, over all these years, no warranty denials. Plus, you have a bit happier ownership experience. A side benefit is that your plugs are not fouling and you will have increased mpg, plus not need to change plugs as often (get maybe 50k-60k miles compared to 30k miles). So, no negatives with this. I am very surprised that many here can't wrap their brains around this. It really is simple, and very beneficial to you. The aftermarket warns about water buildup in the intercooler, and has designs to get it out (VTA BOV, intercoolers with the weep hole already in it). Be open minded and think it through... I am trying to help, not push people to something bad. It is definitely a change in mindset for the turbo crowd that is used to other little turbo cars.
