Got a call from the service manager, said it's definitely mechanical and they either need to rebuild or replace the motor...they are going to shoot for replace but will need to get approval from Ford HQ. It's going to take a few days to get approval for whichever and then another couple days to order the parts and a week to rebuild/replace the motor. Excellent.

That really sucks, cause you say your really good to it and there's guys on here supercharged and tuned and all these mods running strong. Yours may have been built on a Friday .... Sorry to hear though

All I've done to it was a Roush CAI. I do a little spirited driving on road but haven't taken it off road since I got it. BUT I did get it used so who knows what happened to it before. Looks like brand new but??

OP - What was the oil level like when you first heard the noise btw?
I had the oil changed a couple weeks back so I definitely checked it thinking the worst...but it was right where it should have been. I did notice it smelled when checking it...I know the synthetic blend stinks but it smelled like it had fuel in it to me, but didn't smell if prior to the issue so it might just be me.

Time for me to step in here, DCSVT1. Send me your information in a PM and I'll move this up the line. In your message, please include your full name, best daytime phone number, VIN, current mileage, and servicing dealership.

I'm sure she does wear a cape.

However, she is a Ford Customer Service Rep.
