So was I and called the dealer when I got home. I don't have time to go into detail right now but the service manager ( I think ??) is trying to set things right and gave me a Lincoln MKZ as a loaner which i just got back from picking up. All I can say is holy *#@*!! Crystal DOES wear a cape!!!!

And thank you Crystal, i owe you big time!!!

The question is what does Crystal wear under the cape????

Ok so I called the dealer last night @ 6, talked to the service manager who got a call from the area ford customer service rep earlier in the day (thanks Crystal!). They wanted to know the status of the truck, was it drivable, broken, what's wrong with it, how long has it been there etc. etc. Long story short, now the manager is involved, and between him and the assistant manager (and whatever was said between them and the CSR) agreed that since they have had the truck since Monday and unsure of when it'll be done that they should give me a loaner. When I was there last night picking it up the tech doing the work and the assistant service manager working the "case" were both gone and there was no "story" in the computer so the manager couldn't tell me exactly what was the status. All he could say was that apparently the tech had pulled the valve-cover because he'd listed a new gasket on the claim. We went and looked at it and it was still all together but it had something hooked to the vacuum line coming off the intake, he suggested they were in the process of checking compression but was unsure. Also, the 2 front tires were almost flat, with just enough air in them to not damage the rims. I was told that was so the tech could reach the motor...odd but probably not going to harm anything. I called the ast service manager this morning and he said that the tec has been working on it since I brought it in but couldn't pinpoint the issue and still working on it. I reminded him that my scanner told me sever misfire in #5 and it's worse once the truck is warmed up & not so bad when cold. So after 3 days they don't know what's wrong with it...

Pretty common to air the front tires almost all the way down, I wouldn't worry about it. Unless the tech is 7' tall, he needs it.

Also on a side note; now that dealer and area CSR are aware that I am posting on here because they were given original contact info with a link to this site. Not that I care but I suppose if I'd posted that I jumped a mountain at 150mph in reverse and it exploded ...they all would know about it now. Luckily as I said before, only mods I've done are the Roush CAI. I was thinking about getting a tuner and SVT tune....glad I didn't, not sure how that would have affected the warranty.
Again I don't care if they are reading this thread or any of my other posts because I haven't done anything wrong and have had nothing but good things to say about that dealer....so far anyway. ;-/

But remember, big brother IS watching...

LOL, like I said I'm sure it won't hurt anything just never saw that technique before. Not a bad idea, I prefer my 1 step stool when playing under the hood though

Also remember, it sucks your truck is down, but at the end of the day, the tech isn't just working on your car and your car alone, they may tell you that, but he isn't. The diagnosis needs to be streamlined and once they coordinate with FORD HQ, they'll take the appropriate steps. But, I know all too well the actual process, and just hang tight, don't worry about it, you have your loaner now, and it'll all come together here soon.

That is funny about the tires. I had to change a clutch in my lifted Toyota that I used to have. Actually it was my first 4x4. A solid front axle '85 SR5. My buddies used to joke me about wheelin' with the electric windows and the A/C. Anyway, I had to air down all four tires to get it in the garage and leave them down so my trans jack would reach. :)

Best of luck with your repairs. I am hopeful that will get you sorted out in the end.
