Just my opinion, but I feel you have right to not want someone parked next to you. Now taking two spots near the front or when a place is packed is a bad move, but you will find me at the very bottom of every not packed parking lot taking 2 spaces. I work too hard to take care of my truck to treat it like its just a form of transportation...

Sorry, but this just screams douchebaggery to me. Park far away. But one space only Vasilli.

You never know when the parking lot will fill up.

You act like you are the only one with a nice vehicle. Park correctly and set an example for the other idiots.

what about when your truck no longer physically fits into one space?

am I then a complete ******* for even owning a vehicle that doesn't fit in a parking space?

people don't think anymore. I've had someone park DIRECTLY BEHIND MY TRAILER that has the loading ramps deployed, in a parking lot with very few other people. am I the jerk because I decided to run in someplace to pee before finishing unloading my trailer?

I think I'm going to try my best to take up 3 spots the next time that I have my raptor out, just because it will trigger half the snowflakes in the world.

It's not like there is a sign stating "parking is free. limit one space per customer."

This parking lot was crowded as hell and as i was looking for a spot, i came across this ass hat. What is sad is, one of the 2 spots he took up was next to a curb, so if he would have used the curb correctly, he could have had plenty of door ding protection.

people like this are just ass hats, and if I had a beater, would park 3 inches from the driver door.

I don't want any door dings in my truck, so i park far. But people like him deserve them. I live in an apartment complex with limites parking, and theres plenty of ********** who take two spaces. It annoys me way too much

I generally try not to get too bent out of shape about parking. In the case above, it could that the extra space is needed in order for someone to get in and out of the space, and there wasn't a handicap space available at the time. Probably not, but you never know. This weekend, I was helping a friend move and intentionally took up 2 spots in order to unload the cab without damaging the truck or whoever was parked next to me.

I tend not too worry too much if I'm exactly in the lines when I know I'm only going to be there for a 5 minutes. it's not worth the effort, and I'm not putting anybody out. If longer, I'll take up a spot near the back to avoid dings if I can. Not two spaces, as parking away from everyone generally gets it done. Of course you can also avoid dings by avoid vehicles with kids and parking next to the passenger side of your neighbor, since there is always a driver but not always a passenger.

Another point worth noting is that in long term parking situations, it could be that a vehicle is forced to park outside the lines because other vehicles were already outside the lines. Airline parking lots are a good example. The worst I saw was in a dorm parking lot. By the end of the semester, the lines were completely irrelevant as no one was in the lines.

While we are talking about parking, what are people thoughts about using a person to block other vehicles from taking a spot in a crowded lot till you can get there? I was in this situation a couple months back. Some guy (I assume) has his wife and kids camp in a parking spot while he drove over there. I had been searching for a spot for 10 minutes already and was not going to accept that. After slowing inching in for a minute or so and some name calling on the her part, she finally gave up.

Taking up two spots, regardless of where you park, is not a good move in my book. I always park as far out as possible and take up a single parking space.

On a similar note, I confronted a lady several weeks ago at Home Depot who parked in a handicap spot. She rushed out of the store very briskly pushing a cart and hoisted two bags of rock salt (around 40 lbs each) into her car while talking on her cell. I asked her if she was handicapped. She stated with all kinds of attitude that she has spinal issues. I told her that I was not there to argue whether or not she has, or ever had, spinal issues, but I was curious as to what issues she was having that day which justified her using a spot that somebody else may genuinely need. Her face went blank and she had no response. I smiled and stated very nicely that she shouldn't be parking there unless she genuinely needed the spot on that particular day.

To play devils advocate here. What is just as bad, if not worse, is when you park at the absolute far end of a parking lot, and the lot is nearly empty, you take just one space, and some fine person parks as close as they can next to you. Real considerate. I don't condone parking like the truck above is, but door dings are really a pet peeve of mine and it really is a shame more people than not have no concept of it. Pull right up next to you and let their door slam into yours.

I'm 100% with you!.....I go out of my way to park far away and yes there will be some bone head right next to me later....
now....I have double parked in lots before but only if the lot is really empty and I still park far away...there should be no issue hogging 2 spots if there is plenty for all....
