I've literally NEVER even pressed the parking brake and I pull the release every time I drive. How are these pads shot in 50k miles?

Damn, I haven't ever used mine either and I have 95000 miles on mine. Yours has been dragging for sure, can tell!! Bet your gas mileage will increase when that is fixed!

Wouldn't hurt anything, just a parking brake.

Located a parts store that has a set but I'm on kid duty until the wife gets home.

So it wasn't the shoes... The shoes were chewed up but it was because the keepers that hold the shoes in place had pulled through the backing plate and all that hardware got between the shoe and the drum.

Anyway. I took everything apart and started cleaning it up.

I intended on taking/posting reassembly pics but my kids were 'helping'.

Back up and running though.
