im making fun of all the idiots on here that are continueing to complain at every little thing bc the truck is not a V8 OR that it doesnt sound good...make sense now? smh....

Except the people who don't want a blue interior are not the same set that wants a V8. Some overlap for sure, and I recognize the similarities. Personally, I think comments about the blue or more valuable since Ford could very easily allow for black interior in the the 37 package and a marketing decision rather than performance based. While putting a V8, NA or SC, is clearly a much bigger change.

And really, if you don't want to see negative comments about the blue interior, why are you reading this thread? The title sort of gives the content away.

They seem to be really going with the whole orange accent thing to match the upgraded markers up front. Did you see those t-shirts the Ford reps were wearing at the event? If anything the red stitching on the steering wheel and the center tab should have been switched to orange?

The red stripe on the steering wheel has been switched to orange. No, not an amber orange, but a red/orange that I believe is the same as the Code Orange exterior color. It does not show up to well in pics. The American flag easter egg and stitching is in the same color.

At least then you have a general theme going on.. :Ford Blue and Orange Marker Lights: they were the first to push the width of the truck and all the competitors followed suit, then Ford said "hold my beer, i'll make them even ******* bigger"

I think that actually was the plan, in a way. I don't think they wanted to use an amber orange on the interior as that's probably even less appealing, and they are already using a burnt orange color on the Tremor. I will admit that blue/orange is a common pairing of colors that people are used to seeing. They certainly could have picked worse options. I think it's just a better approach to go with neutral colors, letting buyer's pick their favorite accent color with aftermarket stuff if they want.

Kind of an aside, but it seems that automakers haven't fully realized that the internet has given people a lot more access, and a lot of variation, to customize their vehicles. Building a vehicle with interior color accents that can't be easily changed doesn't make a lot of sense to me personally.

I just keep coming back to this quote; Ford is notoriously careful with all things F150, often to the point of taking a while to implement changes. It makes sense, the F150 is quite literally the industry standard for industry standards. It’s unparalleled in other businesses and leaves other automakers scratching their posteriors trying to figure out how to catch up.

For a manufacturer who is -this- particular about preserving the F150’s position atop the sales heap to make such a polarizing, truly love it or hate it decision is seemingly nonsensical. It literally goes against every step Ford makes with the F150.

Again - the Gen3 will be a great Raptor, clearly improved across the board. But this move... ugh.

Makes me wonder if Ford is trying to wag the dog with this decision. I mean, instead of just following what customers want with a vehicle (like they're doing with so many other features), they are forcing it on us in hopes that it becomes a status symbol or something that people decide they need in their vehicle, even if they don't really like it. It could actually help upsell the blue interior if they can convince buyer's that all the best Raptors have blue.

Whatever, I have no idea.

I keep coming back around to Ford not wanting to sell too many 37 packages. If you look at it that way, everything makes sense. But that doesn't mean I'm right. Stupid never goes out of fashion, unlike blue interiors. :bleh:

You think they are concerned about warranty liability perhaps? Want to see how it goes for a year or so, then start making more, separate from the blue, and let the sales flow?

Warranty and the hit to their CAFE number. For the same reason, I expect the R to be VERY limited. I think they'll build just enough to be able to say that they're better than FCA and no more than that. I'm hoping that long about 2024 they'll have the 37s dialed in warranty-wise and will ease up on the punitive measures they're taking to reduce sales.

Not a fan of the Blue Interior and suede leather they used in Raptor. Just hope they will bring the Marine Grade Vinyl from the New Bronco washout seats to Raptor in the near future. The marine grade vinyl looks cool/feels good and it’s made for offroad.
