Do me a favor, please just run 93 or at least 91 in your new Raptor

Absolutely. We'll get right on that for you. What else you need? Some coffee? Something to read while you wait?

Personally, I don't give a shit. But that's what needs to happen instead of e-**** measuring contests.

I believe you are wrong.

Please don't do it, do not run 87 in this truck

e85 allows for more timing to be run then 93, so YES you can increase power without increasing boost and in some cases quite a bit.

my vette on the left would likely gain over 100hp just with the switch to e85 and a retune WITHOUT touching my boost controller. ;)

sadly CT sucks and there are only 2 pumps that are within 1hr of me one way... makes no sense to make the switch, instead i run 93 and spray ****, even then e85 would allow for way more timing then i can run right now safely.

Where do you get your ****?

Might be too far but I always got mine from Racing Fuels - Columbus Energies provides propane and oil delivery throughout the Southeastern Massachusetts and Rhode Island region | Columbus Energies in Swansea, MA

I'm guessing you are not aware that Ford calls for synthetic 5w50 in the GT500s?

Aware - read those forums and valve noise is common and pretty much considered normal. Same with Porsche engines. Mine calls for a 20w50. Rattles like a bucket of bolts when it's cold. Like a slightly quieter bucket of bolts when it's warm.

Of course, at 53, it is, objectively, a bucket of bolts.

Someone will eventually do it, just because. But it doesn't need to be done, because it's a given. Lower octane=less performance. Boost will be lowered, timing will be retarded, fuel mix will be enriched, etc. So, if you want to tow, or go have fun, or just have the best performing truck, use higher octane. If you don't care, use 87.

The point was never about performance, its' about the guys who think it will actually damage the engine, and it will not.

Thanks brother . Wasn't going to waste my time trying to explain. People on this site are so eager to try and prove someone wrong and call people out. The GT500 calls for Motorcraft 5/50.

For those of you that think I am blowing smoke, do some reading. This same site (The GT500 version of the site) is filled with this topic.

Last post on this topic, I promise (I know, this inst the GT500 site) Here is the sound my car would make on the day of an oil change. This sound would last until about 1000 miles after the oil change, then it would go away and not come back until the oil was changed again.

Again, the car by default has a super noising valve train, no doubt and it was noisy all the time and was normal. But this exact sound only came on after I change the oil and always, always went away roughly at 1000 miles of use on that oil.

Time to mute. I cant take the idiocracy of this thread. Yes you can run 87, but there are benefits to running higher octane. Op maybe you could point those benefits out rather than repeating an unsubstantiated statement
