You don't have to worry about this as 2013s rear shocks are wrapped with a clear plastic wrap.

Any UPDATES on this thread?
You pay around 50k for a truck, you shouldn't have to worry about this little stuff. So what's the final word on this? Anyhone?

It gets worse. I'm seeing some corrosion on my ICONs after one winter. Oh well. It is not a show car. I'm using it up and upgrading as I go.

Just got pictures taken on my shocks and rims so well see what they say. I spray oiled my truck twice since 2011 an the shocks are the only messed up!

I live in Upstate NY and mine are looking about the same as all the pics above. I know the harsh salt really takes a toll on them but they still should be more resistant to everything especially if you wash them regularly. ive been thinking of Possibly covering the stickers and brushing everything off with a wire wheel and clear over them again?

Just did a thorough cleaning on my 2013 with the plastic wrapped shocks. No corrosion yet, but water (along with everything else) is seeping under the plastic coating they put on the shocks. I am thinking about removing the plastic so the water wont be trapped under there.

Anyone removed the plastic/Fox decals yet?

Figured I would chime in on this. When I bought my Raptor in October I immediately put on the Amsoil to protect the finish over the winter. The truck is a 2012 and has 10,000 kms on it (6k miles). I still have lots of corrosion on the rear shocks and it has only been in the prairies where we do not use salt. I am pretty disappointed with this result since I went to lengths with the Amsoil to protect the finish. I am going to go see my local dealer once I am done this flight training course and see if I can get anything resolved.

Small update on this, just went to a detailing shop today and picked up a few products to try and clean up the shocks, going to have to remove the fox stickers but once its all cleaned up I also picked up a sealant for it. Will post some before and afters once I do it this week or next weekend. I am hoping if it does clean up that it will fair better over the winter than when it was coated in the Amsoil.
