I don't really remember when I joined, but I havn't check in yet. Now that the truck is here and I'm happy, I thought I'd check in.
I've been a chevy guy all my life, but when my 2002 rusted away in front of my very eyes, I started thinking I might want a new truck. One night on the way home from work, the wife and I stopped a Ford dealer to check out what the Raptors where like. They had one. After the short little test drive, I was hooked. We worked out a deal with the salesman and thought we'd have a new truck to show our friends and family at Christmas. Well as anyone who follows the 2012 threads knows, a ordered Raptor in 3 months is unheard of. We didn't know that at the time. Well, months went by and after almost canceling my order, the truck finally arrived. The dealer had to promise a tonneau cover and a spray in bed liner. He also did a good job on the rusty chevy trade.
I've only put 80 miles on the truck so far. Was it worth the wait, I'm still deciding. Am I happy, HELL YEAH! I just spent 3 hours today pouring over the truck and installing the weathertechs. I also removed the head rests. Those things really bock your view.
I would also like to thank the regular posters on the forum. I'm typically a lurker and enjoy reading the "Why the hell isn't my raptor here yet" posts. It was nice to be able to relate. The information about mods and other topics everyone has shared has also been great. Thanks!!
For anyone still reading this post and interested, I'm going to start a thread under the "interior" section related to the truck jack and wheel chock storage location with some photos and a slight mod.
Thanks and happy driving.
