Hello from Arizona! I'm driving a Tacoma now and I like the truck alot but my son needs a vehicle for college so I'll let him use my Tacoma. I need a new vehicle and I've been looking at several. I pretty much had it narrowed to a Cadillac CTS-V - my first daily driver car since I was a teenager - because they are very fast and companies probably won't be making anything like them in 10 years. Then a I saw a Raptor - then I went to the dealer, late, and walked around a Raptor without salespeople bothering me - and now I'm hooked. They probably won't be making these in 10 years either. I need to test drive one but if it drives half as nice as it looks then I'll have to pull the trigger. Hopefully, I'll learn a few more things here too. Thanks for reading.

aww man you had to go there! the CTS-V is one car GM makes that I would love to drive...but you know what the common person won't know what it is and it certainly won't be as cool to drive as the Raptor. i think you know what to do....

Welcome and keep us updated on your decision!!

Welcome! The CTS-V is an amazing car and one I would love to own. And speaking of fast GM sedans that most people know nothing about, here's my current family brawler...

I recently sold my '03 F-150 Harley Davidson so that I could step up to the Raptor. I love my G8 GXP, but it hardly gets driven. Somehow I'm betting that it'll be even more of a garage queen once the Raptor arrives. Oh well, time to sell. :)

Best of luck on your decision. There are a lot of good people and great resources on this board.

Dang it!! I went and drove a Raptor today. Took it out on the road, freeway, and off-road in a fairly flat bit of desert/large vacant lot. What a machine. Wonderful feel, wonderful sound, wonderful everything. Not even close to as fast as the CTS-V (0-60 in 3.9 seconds) but more personality than 5 of them put together. The only thing that took me aback and made me laugh out loud was my MPG listed in the LCD above the steering column - 6.4 !! I think some Winnebagos get better mileage? But I had a smile on my face the entire drive and I had my foot in it the whole time too. My question to you Raptor owners is how do you not put you foot into it the entire time behind the wheel? I'm going to drive the Caddy again just to make sure but I think I know what the decision will be.

Oh thank god, I thought you were going to buy him a Raptor and not yourself when I first started reading your post. We have two at the local high school. I can't believe someone would buy there kid a $50,000 truck to drive to school in. Heck my first car my dad bought me was an old beater that I had to work on all the time. At least that old car taught me how to work on a car and responsibility.
