Hello All.

I'm in search of a builder who makes carbon fiber body replacement parts or my 2012 Hennessey Performance VelociRaptor800. She is fast as hell but there is always room for improvement. Given the power I already have, the next most logical direction for performance improvement would be weight reduction. But I cant seem to find near OEM CF parts anywhere. Any ideas?

Thanks.

CMM

Here's a list of companies that make CF parts for motorcycles: Light Speed, eLine, DSP, Dragon Plate, Carbon Fiber Gear, P3, FiveO and Carbon Fiber Works. You might want to contact any of them to see if they can custom make something for you. It won't hurt to try. The worst they can tell you in "no"....Good luck...

So like insaid before on the front diff is a very good bet

Look at SDHQ they are working on a manual gearbox
Could save some weight as well
Combine it with a lighter flywheel an diffrent gear ratio in the rear diff
And i think you could have an insane beast

Upper and lower control arms could lose you some weight as well in the front
Low weight rims and tires
Solid 1 piece rear window
Solid lexan front window
Remove the sunroof or replace with non moving lexan window or something
Replace heater and ac with lighter aftermarket versions
Tube frame rebuild

Then moving weight
- battery to the bed ...
- Spare tire in tiregate
- in the bed gastank
More weight in the back = better weight distribution

All in all i think 250 to 500 kilo or 500 to 1000 pounds will be possible
But will take tons of time and fundin

Keep us posted of the progress please
Love to see the scales comparison from before and after
And maybe qaurter mile numbers or mile numbers. As well

Although I'm criticizing your build a little, it's meant to be constructive criticism, I love what you're doing with the truck even though you're not doing much offroading at all, the difference is you're trying to go with true performance while many others go for show performance only, go out and spank those Ferraris, and please keep sharing your build with the forum, in my opinion this has to be one of the top 10

Wow I go away for 2 day's and this blows up to Tie engine blocks..lmao
Some of these guy's are defiantly on to some good things..
It would really be a matter of going threw the hole truck front to back and evaluate all components as you go looking for weight savings.. We have removed lots of weight in the past just by shortening fasteners up.. (After it is threw the nut it's just dead weight..) I would remove the interior and look for useless brackets and fasteners...(There are a lot).. As you no there is always a compromise but it can be done and keep you comfy...
I totally understand where your coming from with the comfort thing. We use to travel in a C-5 and like you said at the end of 3-4 day's I wanted to kill myself..ha ha

Love this thread, totally new side of the raptor performance picture. Keep it up man. Also it is hard to see what bumpers you are running but I would run something super minimal up front and on the rear. Less weight and the rear bumper if you look at it is not aero dynamic at all. Think some super minimal bumpers could help. Doesn't look like you are running the side boards which I would also suggest ditching. Also if you are looking at doing launches and stuff take that 35 gal tank out and put a cell in the bed that you are closing off. get a little weight on top of the rear axle to help you hook up.

Just trying to find some ways other than ones mentioned to get you moving faster. I think caging the beast and ditching 4WD will help a ton, get the slop out lose alot of weight and gain a ton of rigidity. if you have the sliding back window ditch it and the whole motor assembly and just go solid glass. should be a few pounds.

... just get a built aluminum or titanium block based off the boss 6.2l, bored and stroked to 7.0l, it is a better design than the ls motors, just no one has taken it even near it's potential yet...

Development of the Ford 6.2L engine started way back in 2004 when its original Ford codename was "Hurricane." Plans for the engine were cancelled due to rising fuel costs and the state of the company back then, but development continued a few years later under the codename "Boss" in light of the Hurricane Katrina tragedy. Roush was doing some experimental testing on the Boss engine platform and there was talk of releasing a Boss 777 engine in a Mustang (7.0 litre, 700 horsepower @ 7,000rpm, hence 777). I'm not sure the engine went any further than the experimental stage, but the engine was supposed to be capable of making 800 naturally aspirated horsepower with a 7.0L displacement. Who knows what a supercharger or turbocharger could add, but I don't think horsepower numbers in excess of 1000 are unrealistic at all.

Long story short... I think there's a lot of untapped potential in the 6.2L engine.

Good luck!
