Mine is under the knife as of this morning. I waited until Ford had a formal response to the problem in hope that it is a real fix. I ecouraged them to change the phasers, chains tensioners, guides and vct solenoids as my truck has rattled for 36k miles. I also had the dealership order all parts before the Truck was even taken apart and had them put their best Engine Tech on it. He has changed the Phasers on 10 F150s and 2 Raptors this year. The Dealer to their credit has been very accommodating in making this right and agreed to everything I asked. That is how this repair should be handled and not the nightmares we have heard on this board. Push hard and make them treat you like a valued customer. They will if you push them enough. Worst part was disconnecting all of the after market wiring. Truck should be done by Wednesday. I will let you guys know how it goes.

PS- That is TRR mud still on the truck. Ran like a beast with no rattle at TRR. Got home rattle was back. Go figure!2019120995135831.jpg 2019120995135822.jpg

Damn- I forgot they had to take the thing literally apart for this. Good luck! Sounds like you have a good dealer.

Now you’ve REALLY got me convinced a tune is nothing to worry about when it comes to warranty repair if cam phasers ever go on mine, ignition cycles? Ya drove 36k miles w/ the phasers rattling entire time hahahahah!!

My point is I decided to tune the truck after researching this common issue quite a bit & came to the conclusion if I started noticing it & got to point I wanted to pursue warranty repair I’d flash back to stock & drive few thousand miles. Looks more than doable based on your experience!

They had the body off the truck in under 2 hours. This repair takes 2 -3 days tops. Ford knows they have bad phasers on too many stock trucks to blame a tune. 13 at my dealership this year.

Enjoy your truck and do not worry about the CAM phaser Gremlins. I am happy that is what I did than worry and have it fixed multiple times. 36 k with a terrible rattle on start that you could hear on deceleration. I will tell you I would not push it much further than I did. I just told people I had the Ford Rattler special edition.

It is a machine and it can be fixed again if need be with the 125k warranty I bought. So TRR here I come with a newly installed Stage 4 Icon Kit!

That's also what I figured....rather than wasting more time/resources trying to uncover a tune or catch can or CAI or whatever to blame the problem on, since it's already a WELL documented issue across a number of platforms I imagine they just want get it diagnosed, fixed, & outta the service bay & on to the next one. I also got an extended warranty w/ mine to 100k

Truck was back together by 1015 this morning. Pretty impressive. Should get it back today. Hopefully it is fixed.
Nice! Do you mind posting the part # for the replacement parts? I'd be interested to see them. My rattle came back within a few months after the "c" marked Phasers went in.

Here you go. No new part number was issued when the service bulletin was issued in September only a new PCM flash. Did you get everything else changed as well or just the Phasers? New PCM flash?

My parts have been in since July. Tech just cam available. Tech says he has not had any return customers. We shall see!
