Cam Phaser/Engine Failure Reports

Fixed my '18 cam phaser problem this morning. Brought home a '20 in the same velocity blue. AFAIK the parts still aren't in to fix the '18. But honestly it's not my problem anymore.

Don't be - you got the same defective phasers installed into your truck. IIRC the updated parts (new part numbers) weren't available or installed until September sometime. It sucks that you already went through the process but at least understand that the parts they put in were the same ****** parts they replaced.

They can’t just have the parts at the dealership in case a Raptor comes in, since this is a widespread issue... because I know they can’t order parts until they do a complete tear down to diagnose the issue. That’d save a few days of waiting... just stock a few repair kits, especially if you’re a popular dealer.

It’s annoying that you & them both know the issue, yet you have to drop it off for X amount of time for it to be sitting more than half that time.

Dropped my 17 off at Galpin Ford in So-Cal, they said it is a 2 month wait period as there is 50 truck in front of me waiting for this fix (gulp)!

Here in California if they keep your vehicle more than thirty days they owe you a new one. That is probably why they say drive your truck until parts come in.
