Had my local dealer do standard oil change. Got the car back, all seemed normal.

Next morning, crank it, I thought a cat or something snuck in the engine. Happens again, sounds like cam phaser. Now it’s every cold start. What are the chances this happens after the oil change?

I have fords extended warranty, any issue getting this covered under that?

I guess you have checked oil stick level ?
Only the mecanic who have done the job can tell...but of course , he will say everything was fine, (what could be true) so now, you can't really know why, you search how to fix. Good luck

I can’t logically connect the two. But that sucks. Mine was covered under the warranty at around 50k miles no question.

id says the chances are pretty good of it happening after a oil change. id say this because going the other direction.. mine had a slight rattle here and there went back to ford branded oil and its quiet again. dunno but there's something to it.
