It still amazes me the people that complain about dealer mark ups.....just move on or wait....supply vs demand with this truck will level out quickly with 2018 orders starting.....

It still amazes me the people that don't complain about dealer mark ups - ADMs provide zero tangible benefit to Ford's bottom line and serve as a disincentive to brand loyalty, so why not put some pressure on them to control the ****** business practices of their legally mandated sales surrogates?

Remove the sarcasm and you have a pretty solid answer. Yes, in nearly every retail market the suggested price is generally an upper bound on what consumers are expected to pay for a given commodity. When third party sellers violate this principle, consumers generally react negatively.

It's silly to argue dealers can't charge ADMs, just as it's silly to argue consumers shouldn't complain about it.

I think you need to go back over and read my post again. I said it is a sad day when "I can get these rare cars for msrp" but have greedy Ford dealers asking 20k over msrp for a ford mustang.

Not sure why that upsets you.

"Rare cars" HA! All it takes it LOTS of $$$ and you spent it. It cost you at least $400,000 for those 2 vehicles and you still complain about $10k on a Raptor!

Not seeing the MSRP "give" yet on '18s

while i struggled with the '17 v. '18 issue, I did not find that these dealers are just falling over to give away '18 allocations at MSRP any more than they were on the '17 models. But many on here seem to suggest that is the case or will be because only us ***** '17 buyers were stupid enough to pay MSRP or beyond lol.

Like any other consumer item, it will ultimately boil down to supply and demand. If there continues to be demand, I don't see the "dealer panic" and backpedal from ADM as some have posed, especially in West coast dealers. In either case, I think it is waaaaaay too early to suggest that waiting on '18s will assure easy MSRP buys as very few dealers even have '18 allocation info yet and I still have not seen but perhaps one confirmed '18 DORA.

I believe that the msrp deals some of us are getting are in the minority. Not sure how accurate this is but I believe it was autotrader or kbb that had the average price paid for a Raptor and it said $87K. I've waited long enough and got my 17' on lock finally

^quite a bit if you've been waiting nearly a year. And if you already have the exact truck you want on lock for msrp

I didnt wait, life's too short! If you can find a Msrp deal and its has the color and options on it you been looking for Buy it! Real simple, If you cant locate a Msrp deal, wait until you can find one. Just know these dealers play alot of games. I was number one in line for 2 different 1st allocations. One of dealers still hasnt called to say I can order the 18 yet. Trust me theres very little loyalty to out of state buyers. If they have a local buyer, they will bump you and you will never know the difference. Ive heard all of the waiting horror stories. I chose to play both sides, to see if the right truck and right deal came along.. Just like they do to us. Remember these are "car salesmen"
Toys / Trucks are not investments. I personally didnt think there was enough of a difference between 17/18 to wait. Truck is freaking awesome, Im gonna enjoy now and for a several years to come anyways.
