You say "let that get sorted" like there is something wrong with the transmission. You may not like it but that doesn't mean it's not doing its job or there's anything wrong with it. There are no wide spread issues with it. The only problem is your preference and it doesn't seem like ford is very concerned with making you happy when other people would love to have it.

Ford said the same on the "clunk" until enough people were mad and said fix it. I don't care what car it is, ALL new cars with new tech have bugs to work out. I was simply saying let Ford fine tune it or "sort it". I don't give a damn how it drives as I'm not getting one until I know all the short comings and what to expect. Sorry you took offense to what I was saying. Was not meant to take anything away from your truck or anyone else who has a Gen 2. I was just saying after 4 Gen 1's and 2 of the four having an issue that was "normal" until it wasn't and a local dealer with a Gen 2 saying he felt the tranny was crap I would wait.

Even the first 991 GT3 porsches had motors fail right and left and by the second year they were fine.

Sorry to get you worked up Dude, I'm sure you love your rig and it's perfect so enjoy it!

There might be issues but nothing widespread has seemed to come out yet so there is no reason the '18s will be any better.

A local dealer saying the tranny is crap doesn't point out any issues that need to be fixed. It just sounds like he doesn't like it. There are no catastrophic problems and any minor first year problems can be lived with until they are fixed. Most new owners are happy and problem free but you don't see a new thread every time someone's raptor is performing flawlessly.

I understand waiting because of prices. My long time ford dealer lost my business on my last 3 fords because they wanted markups (explorer sport, mustang gt, raptor; all first year models [emoji50]). And it sounds like you have some nice taste btw.

Dude, agree 100% we never hear of the solid trucks just the issues. After owning 4 raptors this was the first one that the PS pump took a crap then get online and see it is common place with no real fix except some expensive resivors that may or may not fix the issue. For me I had just done the big heavy General MTR's the VMP TVS and the mid perch within the week it failed. So I know I broke my own rule of only one change at a time so WHEN there is an issue we can find it. Now we are doing a one off lower 10% to spin the blower faster cause up here in NM elevation kills us. Your dealer and my dealer must have same business plan.

Sell the same guy 4 raptors cash, Shelby KR cash, Boss 302LS (was told wouldn't find one) cash, explorer sport. Promise him next raptor at invoice like all the other deals, gt350r was msrp (fair enough for me). Pic colors wait and wait call them with all the codes day order banks open and get the we are selling for "market price bs" from the president himself. So stay far away from Don Chalmers and the president Gary Housley. After a year plus of emails stating price he basically said screw you im a liar and am greedy. Given I could have used our written contract with the agreed to price and forced the sale but waste of time and not in my nature. I hope Karma gets him back for being a greedy pig.

So now I don't keep money local, I help myself and my family and friends and get the best deal I can.

Just here in Abq we have 5 new FGT's coming to 3 of my friends and 3 guys I know from the car world. As always it's who you know to get the deal. Was even talking to a dealer today on a goofy focus rs for a shop car to play with and they were not moving off msrp and they have 38 of them on the lot?!

Same thing happened to the gen 1 raptor end of 13 into 14 you could see 10-14 trucks out front of every dealer, how soon they forget and it will bite them again.

I am going to have my buddy bring that black 17 by and run it on the vbox to compare to my VMP 2013 and see the difference. Will also let me see this "garbage tranny" he spoke of. To his credit he is use to the the PDK tranny like the last turbo S he sold me which is so good.

So after getting the shaft on the 350r AG I ended up with a Gen V Viper. Can't argue that I got a bit more car, power, lighter and big as v10 vs a 100k (68k) mustang so I cannot complain. Life is good and as long as we are all happy with what we have that's all that matters. I am just a big believer that paying over msrp is a waste of money on any car. Ford also declined my app for the ne Ford GT. Guess I didn't buy enough Ford from them yet maybe when I hit 20 "rare/limited" ones they will let me give them 400k. Just sad they don't see the long term picture of they have a brand loyal client that will place a deposit before we know specs or price and have bought 2-3 cars a year and they pass us up for the sucker or baller who is willing to pay 20-30k over msrp.

Oh well that's supply and demand and if us as customers keep paying over they will keep charging it.

Enjoy your 17 and if I get some race vids and vbox numbers I will share them with you.

Take care!

The transmission behaves very differently in normal vs sport mode. Normal mode shifts early and skips gears when accelerating to keep it calm. Cruising it's in 10th basically all the time, downshifts to get you power when you need it, and immediately back in 10th the second you let off. In sport mode it uses all the gears and winds it out if you're heavy on the pedal. Cruising it keeps it around 2,000. If you're driving hard and let off it keeps the rpms high so you can get back on it and downshifts harder to keep you in power. Also if the miles are low it needs some time to learn your habits. If it's not broken in (at least 500) it might feel strange.

My dealer also has plenty of ford performance cars piling up because they think they can still get a markup. I've been getting a new car about every year and I always give them a chance. They always lose it and get to see my nice new ford in for service. I hate to see that hennessey got a ford gt but it makes sense since ford will get plenty of press out of it (especially hennessey burns it down).

Sad day when a guy who claims he bought a G550 4x4 Squared for $225,000 (base price) MSRP cries about paying a few thousand over MSRP on a $63,000 FORD.

I think you need to go back over and read my post again. I said it is a sad day when "I can get these rare cars for msrp" but have greedy Ford dealers asking 20k over msrp for a ford mustang.

Not sure why that upsets you.

---------- Post added at 10:19 AM ---------- Previous post was at 10:16 AM ----------

I don't get it...why is that sad?

Cause he cant understand what I was saying so decided to make fun of me or make himself feel better some how.

I didn't say I bought any of the cars I listed, simply the fact I can get them for MSRP was the entire point.
