I only had 550 posts in a year before getting a truck, unlike some people who still don’t have one... My order getting cancelled meant I got my truck about 1-2 months sooner than expected. Even if I knew before I couldn’t have purchased earlier due to a refinance (rate decrease, no cash out) that didn’t fund until late last week.

I used the tape to avoid damage prior to PPF next week, I’ve seen it done on exotic cars that need to be delivered longer distances. The light purple tape really wasn’t sticking, so I used the duct tape only on top of it to keep it on. That stretch of I-40 from ABQ to Flagstaff is always rough on my cars with chips and broken glass. Once it’s got PPF and mud flaps (either rockblocks or RA) and is broken in I’ll be done babying it. I may get ceramic done next week as well.

I will do same driving my newly vette w/ freshly painted front bumper from paint shop to PPF/wrap shop bout 45 mile Drive but absolutely not worth a single chip thereby erasing the whole purpose of the paint job lol

Awesome. Congrats. But tape? Only a sissy like 911crazy would do that. I just finished installing my R7 and BlackVue dash cam.

I know what the first choice of mud flaps you said are but what is the second?

I’m debating removing the tape this morning or leaving it on until PPF next week. That delicate surface painters tape advertises no residue in direct sunlight for 7 days and 30 days in shade. The run down I-17 early in the morning to Phoenix is usually pretty light traffic. I don’t want to redo it as it took probably 45 minutes to do.

I was too lazy to type Rally Armor. The Weathertech mud flaps also look fine, but it looks like the Rock Blocks and Rally Armor offer a little more coverage and look like they belong on the Raptor vs my dad’s 2wd F-150.

I hadn’t looked at this before, but my new Scab is a recent build. The build date on the sticker shows 06/20 and the date on the window sticker is 06/22/2020. The tires are date coded 0420 or 0520, which I looked at before purchase. This should mean the bedside decals come off easier than if the truck had been sitting around for 6 months or something.

They all look like arse on a Raptor, but it's a compromise you have to make to keep the sides of the truck cleaner and minimize paint chips. I also blocked off the front holes on the running boards to cut down crap getting slung on the door handles.

Which ones are those? My truck will see lots of highway and slushy highway so the mud flaps are mandatory to me. I was thinking about using kydex to cover the holes in the steps. Shortly after getting on the highway yesterday I heard the clang of a rock hitting the step. It was loud enough my buddy heard it through the Bluetooth and asked what happened.

I've been really happy with the Rokblokz. Made in the USA, too. If money is no object, the Rally Armour look to be a bit better, although at three times the price, I can't see the value.

I've got the Rokblokz on mine and like them. They even hold up well scraping on rocks as you go over them.

Great looking truck, you will love it. Get rid of the tape now, it will be fine.
