Looking a getting a Bak MX4 or a X4s for my 23. Anyone who has the MX4 know is the bed camera blocked when the cover is up against the bed? Can you still see the whole bed or is it partially blocked?

It definitely obstructs all the way up but it's fairly easy to remove the topper if you need to haul something big and want to be able to see.

It's pretty tough by yourself IMO. I do not ever look forward to putting it on/taking it off, and I don't even have the hold open bars to deal with on mine.

If you have a second person to crawl in the bed to undo the bolts and then help take it off, it's a lot easier. Then you only have the issue of storing it. With all the rubber joints and edge seals, you need to be careful.

Disappointed with the Decline in Quality of the BakFlip MX4

Wanted to share this with the forum so others avoid the same mistake.

After trading my 19’ G2 802A for the new 24’ 37PP Avalanche last week, I decided to get a new BakFlip MX4 bed cover as my first MOD. What a mistake.
I’ve been a loyal fan of BakFlip products for years, but my recent purchase of the BakFlip MX4 under RealTruck’s ownership has been nothing short of a letdown. Sadly, the quality that once defined this product line is nowhere to be found in the newer models
The materials and finish feel cheap, and flimsy compared to the solid construction of the older models. The new model doesn’t even include the end caps in all four corners. For a product advertised as premium, this is completely unacceptable, at the price point, they are still selling it. This feels like an under $500 product, not an over $1,000 product.

If you’re considering a truck bed cover, I strongly recommend looking elsewhere for your Raptor. The BakFlip MX4 I received was nowhere near the standard I’ve come to expect from Bak Industries. Unfortunately, RealTruck’s ownership has tarnished what was once a great product.

Thank you for sharing your feedback on the BakFlip MX4. We genuinely value input from our customers, as it helps us continuously improve our products and services.

We’ve heard similar feedback regarding the updated MX4 design, particularly about the rails. I want to assure you that we’ve taken this seriously. Our team is actively redesigning and producing a new, more durable rail with dual layers for added thickness and integrity. This improvement aims to address the concerns you and others have raised.

Your trust in BAKFlip products over the years is appreciated, and we’re committed to earning it back. If there’s anything we can do to assist you further or address your current experience, please don’t hesitate to DM me!

Unrelated to the issue you guys were talking about, but had a question. I live along the Gulf coast and am thinking about getting the Revolver X4S (or t slot version). Ive seen reviews where the fabric separates from the aluminum body. Is that a still common issue? Second, is the warranty on it 5yrs, or 3? Ive read both...

thanks

My .02c… On my R I chose the Ford branded retractable roll up cover … It works well and have no complaints … BUT…. For my 24 … 35 package I went with the Diamondback Switchback …. I really like it and will probably continues to use them on my personal trucks … Sadly though on my work truck I need tool boxes so I went Weatherguard …

The Gulf Coast is a beautiful area, and the Revolver X4s and X4ts are excellent choices for protecting your cargo!

Earlier versions of the Revolver series had some reports of the vinyl separating from the aluminum slats. However, BAK Industries has made improvements over time to address the bonding concerns to give you a more durable product. The X4s and X4ts include a 5-year warranty, and BAK Industries stands behind their products.

I'm happy to help you select the right model for your truck. Feel free to PM me if you have any questions!

I am looking for a cover for my new raptor. Had Bak products on the last 2 raptors. But I have to say the , “I recognize our product needs improvement and we are trying, let me know if I can be of further help”, doesn’t really help the person that paid for the sub par product. Pretty much deterred me.
