This far it looks like Penfed for me from what I have found and I’m a member already. Would love to see something lower than 1.99 @ 60 months so keep them coming

Ramsey is absolutely not talking to simply broke people or those with basic money issues. His audience is wide ranging from the every day millionaire to the guy/gal who lost it all. If you have the cash to pay cash for the car then you should pay cash for the car and also invest an additional $50k into an index fund as you suggested. Needlessly wasting $2500+ when you have the ability to pay in cash is going against any wealthy persons mindset.

Now if you're saying.. you got $100k in the bank and want to put $30k down and put $50k into mutual funds then we are talking about 2 different view points on what you can afford because in this scenario while you may have the cash to buy the asset, you clearly can't actually afford it. If this last paragraph isn't correct, then there should be no issue paying cash and keeping with your investments.

Again, I didn't come to preach.. but.. since people brought it up lol
Isn’t Ramsey the best? He just screams at people.

This is totally unrelated to vehicle financing, but is related to Ramsey. My old man was listening to his radio show and this lady called in saying her and her husband owed north of 800k in student loans (medical students) and wondering if he thought the gov't would forgive those loans. He went the hell off on this lady. Turns out it was the wife of a family friend and my pops noticed because the situation was so unique based on the details she provided. These people just bought a new farm and two new vehicles too. People can be crazy with their finances acting like money grows on trees, and its not limited to the uneducated either.

Current financing for a Raptor is problematic - Supply and demand. Rates will be high. 2.5 - 3.5% average - Better deals are availble with great credit. 20 years ago most people would have given their left nut for that kind of deal. Now it is considered high. I payed cash for my 2014 Raptor. $53,000.00 +/- including tax and license with every option accept the front camera. The color I wanted (Silver), bead lock capable rims and Blue accent interior. I pre-orded this truck and waited 5 months for delivery.

2020 I bought my wife a 2021 Ranger 4WD Sport for $1000.00 below sticker and 0% financing though Ford Credit for 6 years. (I hunted for this truck for 2 months with all the options and color my wife wanted) Nothing was required as down payment - I covered tax & liense fees and gave them $1,357.00 also so my payments worked out to $500.00 even per month. Free - $36,000.00 6 year loan - Kan't beat that. Today Good frigin luck for a similar deal.
My bank wanted 2.7% for a loan at that time.

Yes, that is correct. If you don’t have an account with them it is 1.99%

Kind of exclusive to join and you have to actually bank with them to get that rate due to discounts

Hence the wording as low as. That’s why I stay out of these conversations. They’ll go to the bank, and after all is said (and done) they’ll get 2.89%.

And dont ever tell them what you’re buying (or give them a VIN). They send you a blank check for a car.
