It was a mud flap from a dump truck. It was heavy duty rubber, about 1/4" thick. I made a cardboard template and cut the rubber so it fits tight.

wait! you didn’t buy a $200 set of mud flaps for this? Oh the humanity !

It was a mud flap from a dump truck. It was heavy duty rubber, about 1/4" thick. I made a cardboard template and cut the rubber so it fits tight. It's just wedged in there. I had them on my 2017 and removed them when I traded it for my 2020.

Great idea, I'm thinking I could do the same thing with a piece of the rubber backers I use for target stands. I like that you can pop it out to clean it, or when you don't need it in non-winter times.

I went to another dealer (San Tan Ford) I hadn't been to lately and they have about five screws and all of them had not had front plates mounted. All of them have the holes so it is a factory thing where no harm no foul if front plate bracket attached and removed. Finally a good idea.

**** San Tan Ford. They are MSRP plus $2795 addendum on all Raptors. They also ***** a member here about a month ago, charging him $10K for 37” tires on Methods, and another $15K for maintenance and ESP.

Too much money in OR,look all dealership (included Damerow ) last year.Newberg Ford is completed separated of Landmark who is full....Don't trust .
Order in Missouri .Easy shipping.

It's a different world for Scabs, ordering one since they aren't on any lot is a different story. Koons has, or had, 2 black Scabs for what I am paying right now. But then I'd have to pay shipping on top of that. No, buying local worked fine for me at msrp. I want to keep the business local so it's not a money thing.

I ordered my 2017 SCAB from a small local dealer for MSRP. I'm talking real small....they usually only have about 7 or 8 F150s and 7 or 8 Super Dutys in stock and they only get 2 or 3 Raptor allocations per year. When I was ready to order my 2020 that same dealer wanted MSRP. MSRP was a good deal back in 2017, but not so good in 2020. I started searching the upper east coast on Autotrader for SCABs and thought I'd be doing a 6-10 hour road trip. At that time there was 12 SCABs on the upper east coast, now there's only 3.
I kept hearing a commercial on the radio where Yankee Ford was selling everything for $1K under invoice. So I went there and I guess that $1K under was for anything on the lot. But they ordered me a 2020 SCAB for slightly under invoice. I was fine with that because I hate long road trips and I only had to travel 1.5 hours.

I bought from Koons Sterling Ford (SCREW 802A) at the end of May. I think I got a pretty good deal at the time, certainly did not pay MSRP or anything close to. Truck was delivered about two weeks later on my birthday. No issue with transport besides Koons forgetting to arrange the transporter to take my trade in vehicle back.

I did run into major issues once they had received funds, communication was terrible. I just got notice (66 days later) that my tag and title work had been processed. I went thru 4 or 5 sets of temp plates and getting anyone to call me back was like pulling teeth. Emailed every "manager" , complained to Ford Corp, filed with BBB. Really a shame. Just glad I don't need to use them for anything ever again!

I started stalking a user here who was talking about trading his in on a screw but getting poor offers at the time. I ended up meeting him at the dealer he found and buying his trade-in the same day. Took about a month to find the right truck and dealer. He was 200 miles away from me and we ended up at a dealer 17 miles from my house.

Same thing happened for our purchase. I had a few conversations with dealers in MO. We had financing setup through our credit union, but we couldn't buy out of state with their terms. I still used our financing to apply for theirs and let them know our terms to see if they could do better.

They generally could so that wasn't an issue. But once we started talking numbers, I let them know my price, which was at invoice but I did the math on that myself so I wasn't dsaying hey I want invoice. I explained that we were looking for a deal out-of-state as buying local was a bit more expensive than MSRP but the hoops to jumop through to get it here to us meant I wanted it for what I wanted it for otherwise it made sense to just buy locally.

They wouldn't budge off of MSRP so the deals fell through. We bought in Orange County and paid the slight markup which was still well within our budget. Of course one of the MO dealers called a few days later wanting to haggle some more but I had to tell them it was too late.

I told them we were ready to buy when first making contact and I et that they probably hear that every day but probably should've taken me seriously. Oh well, we did our part boosting the local economy in these times and we love the one we got so it went perfect for us.
