timjitsu, I wouldn't even bother responding to the "keyboard tough guys". Trolls gonna troll, and nothing breeds vitriol like anonymity. If it were an in-person conversation, I doubt their opinions would be as stark.

Buy the truck. As others have mentioned, if it doesn't work out for one reason or another, you can likely sell it and recoup most of your expense.

I'm just trying to get some perspective from people who own a raptor and maybe have been in my same situation where they had fought themselves on getting one and to know why they ended up getting or not getting oit. I mean to some people only having $1500 a month to spend on luxuries isn't close to being enough, to others that's way more than they need. Personally I'm in the middle. I like spend money on some luxuries here and there but it's not a necessity.

personally i prefer a 50% discretionary fund a month. our rent is $2200 and the truck is $1100. both combined is 3300. those are our only bills others then living expenses. one check a month covers both and utilities. the other check is savings for the 2 boys and ourselves, food, miscellaneous stuff and discretionary.


most the time when ppl talk dti they are using gross. i prefer to limit our dti to 30-35% of take home. since we upgraded to the raptor out dti is 41%of take home. we still live a very comfortable lifestyle within our budget.

DTI!!! duhhhh.... I completely forgot about that shit hahaha.

Just did the math, and with the Raptor it puts my take home DTI at 48%, and according to Wells Fargo that's considered a "Fair" DTI for Gross income.

My gross income DTI with the Raptor is 35% which is considered a good DTI.

Hmmm......
