Be my voice of reason please. Can I really afford the Raptor?

What did your wife say.?. Then maybe take it up with your financial advisor. Asking about your finances on a truck forum, bad idea. Kinda like asking an alcoholic if you should stop drinking.

Believe it or not, my wife actually wants me to get it lol. She told me that I deserve it because I've been working 60 hour weeks for the last 8 years. I've always driven the older vehicles and never owned a vehicle that I actually wanted. I've never even bought anything big for myself before. I think the most expensive thing I've bought myself was my rifle. But technically it still wasn't a major purchase because I built it bit by bit over the course of a year and a half.

My wife was against it, but ultimately I work hard and affording it really isn't an issue.

As for 60 hours a week, does anyone really work a 40 hour week anymore? I sure don't. My only saving grace is my office time is generally under 40 hours, and I enjoy what I do.

(Oh, and I drove my wife's hand-me-down Ford Five Hundred after totaling my pristine 1994 Bronco. She got a brand new Explorer, I got her Five Hundred -- Summary: She owes me one)

Buy a used one amigo- you don’t need a 70k car that requires a set of tires that cost more then your left over income. Buy a 2011/12 save your self the buyers remorse

Buying nice used GEN1 will set you back 45k. You might have to put a couple dollars to straighten some things out. The new one will be 60k. ....
I realize you can make things work but I would go for a used one and have more money left in the budget. Factor in the price of gas too if you are going to drive either one daily.
Play safe and do not put a strain on the budget. Things come up and you need to be ready just in case.

2011/2012's still go for around $35k-$40k in my area, and interest rates on used vehicles are always higher. Yeah I'll have a lower payment but it's still a bad deal imo.

Oh, I was considerably upset over the whole thing. I got a ride home from the tow truck driver, then sat in my office at home trying to convince myself to get some work done, and eventually said "F-ck this". I opened my fridge to some obscenely ****** beer, thus necessitating a beer run -- Only to walk out to my garage to the empty spot where my Bronco once was.

That bike ride to the beer store was possibly the lowest moment of my life, lol.
