If you have freqs loaded and they work, you are good.

There are a couple of firmwares that don't play well with others and you end up with a radio that has TX issues. It's not hard to download the file from the radio and then transfer the freqs from the other file over.

I picked up a Baofeng UV-82 from a friend of mine. I have the chirp software working correctly. I changed the frequencies to match a list I found on the forum. Not sure I did it right. Here is what my configuration looks like. I can't pick up any chatter on any of the channels, don't know if I should be able to. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi Slacker, do you know what I am doing wrong to get this error:

The upload was stopped because the firmware version of the image (BFS311 BFB297 ) does not match that of the radio (N5R340AF8HP-1 )

I got my programming cable working and installed chirp but when I used your file to program the freqs it gave me the error. Hope I didn't screw something up! I am trying to get ready for the Phoenix Run this weekend!

Go back up 3 posts and see Treypal's post. There are some issues with different firmware being used. Just download the default freqs from the radio, then edit that file with the new freqs and upload back to the radio.

Thanks Slacker. I read that above but it just didn't click with me the first time. It's hard calling you Slacker when you are so helpful. LOL.

So messing around I didn't a factory reset on the handled UV-5RA. I couldn't load your file into the radio and had to clone the radio and copy some of yours over to make sure it works and it does.

Question I have is I can get the top (A) to show like WXMAN, but (B) only shows the frequency number like 151.625. I can't seem to figure it out to show the text, but the freq is programmed and shows mirrored locations such as the group A. Any thoughts? I tried having the arrow showing B active before start the download, but no luck. Any help would be great and the file you have with all of the freq's gives me the error due to firmware. Any way you could try a new clone of your radio? You could email the file to me and see if it works.
