Here is somewhat a quick write-up. It's not really a step by step but it may help a little.
Here is the red light panel uninstalled:
I used black tape to blacken out the remaining panel. As you can see I will also use some red repair light tape to turn the panel a more red color. (The panel is too close to orange for my liking):
I put some tape against the edge of the vent cover to help protect the paint. I used a putty knife covered in tape and place it behind the flat area around the front of the "s". The vent covers pop out with just a little bit of force. There are 2 clips. One above the "s" and one below the "s":
the vent cover off with double sided tape added for the light panel to stay in place:
the light panel in place:
I then put the red tailight repair tape over the light panel that will be showing through the vent cover:
After the vent cover is put back on this is what it looks like:
The inverter is placed (with heavy duty double sided tape) on the battery housing:
Since the drivers side light panel wouldn't reach the inverter, I had to add wire the light panel. this just shows where I have the drivers side wire coming out of the vent at :
Shown is the plastic piece between the windshield and the hood. I used that little channel to run the wire from the drivers side light panel over to the passenger side.:
This just shows the 3 way connecter. Driver and passenger side light panel plugged into 3 way connecter. The 3 way connecter is then plugged into invereter:
These are the set of run thru wires that Ford put thru the fire wall for ya. I used the red wire for the light panel mod.:
I used the red wire and connected it to the hot wire of the inverter:
I grounded the inverter to the side of the engine compartment.
Ok. I don't have any pics but under your kick panel, under your glove department are the wires i took a picture of. They are blunt end wires that were just simply put through the fire wall from the engine compartment to beside/ under the glove box. Also around the same area of these wires are 4 other wires with blunt ends. These other wires are connected to your auxiliary switches.
They consist of the following colors:
Yellow wire: switch 1
Green w brown stripe wire: switch 2
Violet w green stripe wire: switch 3
Brown wire: switch 4
I used switch 4. So I connected the brown wire to the red wire(red wire that is in the area under glove box). Aux switch 4 now controls whatever i have hooked to the red wire inside the engine compartment which is currently the light panels. =)
Hoped this helped somewhat.
