Any negatives to removing the spare under the bed?

That's a bold assumption of yours @Donmatteo; I don't recall posting anything about affordability?
That's fair. However you said you would rather remove the spare than keep the 35 tire (without saying if you would/could replace the tire), buy a 37 tire, or buy a matching wheel/tire for the R wheels.

The stupid / cheap option is removal all together

The 37 is 6.3 inches more circumference than the 35. So one tire will be slipping or the differential will be slipping the whole time it’s on there.
If you were in that situation, put the smaller tire on the front and stay in 2 wheel drive.
