You might be right with that observation to some degree but rear shocks arent statically mounted and do allow for some forward and backwards movement unlike the front suspension.

Exactly my point, you have shocks that are not statically mounted (on either setup) but the trajectory of the traditional setup is down and forward and it gains travel by moving foreword. Example, I have a bypass rack with 4.0s with 16" of stroke, however it gets more than 16" of travel because it is not 1 for 1. However, if you have a setup with vertical shocks or a staggered setup with forces pulling both directions it seems your rear end would move straight up and down making your travel closer to 1 to 1 and limiting potential to gain more travel through mods without switching from a staggered setup to a more traditional setup.

Again, we are talking about stock trim here and itll work just fine. If you want to go hardcore pre-runner and are looking for 15+" of travel the staggered setup isnt going to be ideal and I guarantee the aftermarket will have a solution.

But in stock trim the Gen 2 will outperform anything else in production and thats all that matters.

Who of us keep things stock? You can gain travel on a non staggered setup, I don't see how you can on a staggered setup without cutting and welding to make it non staggered.

Like I said, 98% of Raptor owners keep their trucks stock and those are the people Ford is catering to. If you want to gain travel youll have to go aftermarket for a solution and that solution will most likely be cutting off old mounting brackets and welding on new ones in different positions which isnt rocket science.

Most of us here on frf do not keep our trucks stock. And for a lot of people cutting and welding is a step too far for them, when on a non staggered you can add the icon rxt kit and get over 15" of travel without major modifications.

RPG already has a fix for it. When the 2015 F150s came out they designed the bumpstop with shock mounts so everything is correct. Even better is the RST 16 kit. More travel, no holes, shocks are in the right spot.

That being said, if I wanted to go fast in da parking lot doe, I would leave the setup stock. Especially for the Starbucks 250 and the Newport 500. Don't want no axle wrap in the pavement princess.
