Which is why no serious offroad vehicle has staggered shocks lol

that's because serious offroad vehicles don't have simple mass production suspension setups with a strong intention around street driving as well. Once you 4 link, or ladder bar, or one of many other suspension configurations out there that have a component that lock the rear from having axle wrap, there is no need to stagger them at all. It's a kill 2 birds with 1 stone approach for the factory application. They aren't going to break the bank with a 4 link long travel suspension on the raptor to eliminate axle wrap, and they aren't going to throw stiff ass springs that make daily driving uncomfortable in the raptor to reduce axle wrap. They're staggering the shocks to reduce axle wrap, while not inhibiting any other on or off road characteristics of the stock style suspension other than appearance. The whole rear end steering in high g turns with a staggered shock setup is BS.

Lol what about every single prerunner with a bypass rack? Sprung under or over. Nobody with a mind for off-roading does it. No one is talking about them linking the truck. And the idea that springs make the truck uncomfortable is asinine, a large number of us have done springs and not only does that eliminate most axle wrap but it improves ride quality.

I bet the truck is going to drive and steer just fine with how the shocks are currently setup.

Lets all stop worrying about what $250k+ purpose built rigs are doing and worry about what a production truck is going to do.

Id bet anyone on this forum $100 that if someone swapped their Gen 1 shocks to the same config the Gen 2 shocks are in and they didnt tell you you wouldnt be able to notice a bit of difference.

I'm willing to bet that anyone that does anything more than a factory location shock upgrade will ditch the staggered setup, especially considering the kits are already developed. We don't have to talk high dollar purpose built rigs here, we can talk about neat every prerunner ever built, budget build of otherwise.

Good laugh on the comments section of Jalopnik. What do you want to bet that rated R is "THUNDERL1PS."

The New Ford Raptor Is Finally Off The Leash

My favorite was the guy who kept posting that a borla cat back would fix the sound of the exhaust. If you make it louder, you might actually hear it over the fake engine sounds they are piping in through the speakers. Clearly, that's the last thing you want to do.

And thats fine but saying the staggered setup is going to be absolute trash and "make the truck steer funny" is a pretty long stretch.

I bet in stock trim the truck is going to perform great and guess what? Probably 98% of Raptors will stay in stock trim forever.

Ford is catering to the masses, not a niche group of hardcore offroaders who want an unrealistic 120mph baja capable rig from the factory.

For serious offroading is a staggered setup ideal? No. But in stock trim for an on and offroad truck will a staggered stock setup work? Yes, probably just fine.

So it's just a gimmick if you are not able to notice a difference?

A lot of people dont even know what axle wrap and wheel hop is so most people wont notice a difference either way even if there is an actual measurable difference.

To me, it seems it would limit travel potential. With a normal setup, when your diff droops out with a non stagerred setup the diff droops down and forward increasing your over travel, i.e. You do not have a 1 for 1 ratio of over all travel when compared to the stroke of your shock. With the staggered setup the diff seems like it would droop straight down and elimate the extra travel to be gained with a non staggered setup.

You might be right with that observation to some degree but rear shocks arent statically mounted and do allow for some forward and backwards movement unlike the front suspension.
