This morning, while in my kitchen, I started my truck to warm it up using voice commands to the Alexa FordPass skill. “Alexa, tell FordPass to start my truck...”

after the command, how long did it take for the truck to start?

I made a a similar setup for Google Assistant so I could use my Google Home or Smart Displays. it is a clunky solution, but actually works really well...and I can make it respond with whatever I want. "Release the Kraken" requests the truck through my apartment's Valet, and starts it up hahah.

I'd still prefer the viper system. I actually cant even get the Ford Pass app to load right now.

What'd you use with Google Assistant? IFTTT/Tasker?

I did start the truck again via Alexa this morning and was better able to hear the truck start. I'd guess about 15-20 seconds from the voice command. Seems to take longer going thru Alexa than just using FordPass or the keyfob. But my sample size is small as I just enabled the skill in Alexa. Seems like quickest is push button start, then keyfob, then FordPass app, then Alexa.

OP, don't take this the wrong way, but I'm not sure what problem you are solving. Suggest you check into the app more before you brew your own.

Picked up the truck, and have the perfect use case for you.

Raptor came in, I went to dealer lot to look at it, dealer said lots of folks stopping by to try to get in the vehicle. So after looking it over, we went into his office to sign paperwork.

We remembered while in his office we never locked it, and I did not want random buyers getting in it, so I grabbed the key fob to lock it. We were not in direct line of sight, so I could not see or hear if the doors locked. Plus the factory fob probably would not have had the range anyway.

We already setup the Ford Pass app outside, so I bring that up, but dealership has horrible reception inside, even with Verizon. After 3 minutes of ******** around, and the app unable to connect to 3G/4G finally had to get up and walk out to lock the truck and then come back in and continue signing.

Viper would have armed it easily with fob and would echo back that it was indeed locked. Perfect use case. 300 ft away and could not lock the truck with the factory setup, fob or app. And I had not even left the dealer lot.

If you wanna spend the $800+ on a viper setup for those 1/100 times then all the power to ya. Unless you live out in the boonies. You just trying to justify the viper purchase bruh. If it was a vehicle without the 802A/ford pass I’d see this as a thing to get.
