I've used Griots and Zaino extensively. Just started reading on the Adams page and I may buy a bunch of stuff from them to try.

Here in AZ, it's super dusty all the time. Every wax product I've tried has ended up attracting dust, almost like a static dust attractor. I've also had wax products that went very soft on the car in the sun.

Then I found Zaino. Zaino is a polymer paint sealant, not a wax. With Zaino the time investment is dramatically lower. Zaino gives great protection and shine but I'm sure top wax jobs are better (for a day or two).

I have a pretty easy Zaino process.
1) wash the car
2) clay bar the car with Zaino detailer spray as a lube, wiping dry with microfiber towel as you go. Time for BMW 750i, 30-40 min. Do this once or twice a year.
3) Apply Zaino, very little product is used, maybe 1-2 oz for the whole car. Key is very little. Too much and its harder to wipe after. Let dry and remove excess with microfiber towel. If too much left on car, use Zaino detail spray to remove. Time to apply on 750i BMW, 15 min. Time to dry in AZ, 20 min. Time to wipe, 30 min.
4) maybe apply another coat, if I'm feeling particular.
5) Wipe with detail spray.

I do this once a year. Weekly washes followed with a detail spray and wipe that takes maybe 10 min after the wash.

I've done several side by side tests on the detail spray. Use after the Zaino on 1/2 the hood. The side without Zaino detail spray is dusty in 1 day. The side with the spray is mostly dust free for 3-4 days.

Which Zaino wax are you using?

I used to use the Zaino Z1 primer and the Z2 sealant. Now they have an accelerator that you add to the Z2 sealant.

I'd buy the Z2, the ZFX accelerator, a bottle of the Z7 wash (smells awesome), and 2 bottles of the Z6 gloss enhancer. Also a clay bar if you don't have one. I use maybe 2 bottles of Z6 and one bottle of Z7 a year. I still have 1/3rd of a bottle of the Z2 I bought like 10 years ago.

On the 750 BMW the weekly wash would take me as follows;
- 20 min getting the wheels and tires perfect.
- 10 min washing with Z7 soap
- 10 min drying with micro fiber towels
- 10 min hitting the horizontal surfaces with Z6 detailer spray.

Maybe 3-4 times a year I claybar with the z6 spray as a lube. That takes maybe 45 min.

Once a year I recoat with Z2, that takes maybe 15 min to apply and an hour to wipe the residue off.

One more thought. I like the griots leather cleaner and lotion. I also really like their tire dressing. Not shinny or wet looking, just a satin sheen. I also use their window cleaner, polishing compounds and pads ( to rub out paint scuffs), window cleaning pads, applicator pads, tons of stuff.

I just have had bad experiences with waxes in Arizona. When I bought my first nice car, a 1993 Ford SHO I bought some really expensive high end wax. Smelled awesome, like a swimsuit model, but in AZ it never really hardened. It was always soft.

I am a Griots fan and have no experience with the others. You can use it on the graphics, but do not use an orbital on the graphics with any product.

Thanks for all of the feedback. I have an order started with Adams and already have well over $200 in the cart with without adding any waxes. I'm still reading up on Zaino and will probably order my wax from them.

There sure are a lot of choices in the car care industry. It's almost overwhelming. haha

Just placed a big order with Adams. I'll probably order my waxes through Zaino. I like the idea of it not attracting dust.

Sorry I'm late to the party and thank you for your order!

Did you look at our waxes and sealants?

They are two different products made for different purposes. Sealants are synthetic products that physically bond to your paint, engineered for maximum longevity.

Waxes are your last step product (LSP). Where sealants bond to our finish, waxes ride on top. A hard paste wax will enhance the depth and shine of your paint, while lasting months at a time. The look from a high quality paste wax like our Americana tends to be a little "warmer" than that of a sealant.

All that being said, if you want the best of all worlds, lay down a coat of sealant, let it cure, apply a glaze, then to top it all with a paste wax.

Stand back and be ready to catch your jaw as it drops.

:)

I personally see no advantage in going with Zaino over Adam's for wax. Zaino isn't a wax btw.

You are not getting "wax" -- not even close... Synthetic polymers but don’t feel bad there are a lot of others who do not know the difference either...

The boy does speak the truth. Been doing it for too many years on too many vehicles!! Do not care what "snake oil salesman tells you" nothing will protect your truck from scratches better than a couple of coats of carnauba over sealant.

I use the Adams Americana—very nice product..
