As a yonker, I used to see H0rny toads (Horned lizard) along with Sonoran desert toads a LOT in the Az desert. Sad to say, I cant remember the last time I saw a horned toad in the wild. Sonoran toads are a rare sight these days too, only out during the monsoon season when they are on the hunt for some toad tang. Great pics as always.

Sad that you’re not seeing them anymore. They are so cool
They are protected in NV now, not sure about AZ. I would hope so since they are few and far between.
I am usually lucky enough to see 2-3 a year. I’ve seen a few in our trips to Sedona on the 4xFoot trails.

The Orange Mallow’s are always one of the last to pop in the spring and they are one of my Favorites…
I believe Ford Stole the Mallow’s color for the CO Raptor?
